you could wipe out all copyright protection completely and content would still be created

130 million dollars was raised by kickstarter to fund the creation of new content

this year alone.

8 years of content is uploaded to youtube every single day.

8 years of kitten videos has to be recorded by iphones, even if they were made in china they still have to be unloaded at the docks (jobs) trucked to the store (jobs) sold by sales people (jobs) and services by technicans (jobs).

Itunes data center employee 49 people.

which is the point of the article.

Have you ever seen the credits at the end of a movie. All the names of actors, stunt men/women, technitians, catering services, transport providers, accomodation providers, editing companies, cgi / fx studios, even the guy that cleans the toilets is there and that's just 1 movie.

add in the staff of youtube, twitter, digg, reditt etc all the other sites that support those videos.

and you got a shit more people employed by the internet then by the copyright industry.
