I just spent $450 on 2 tickets to see Madonna

I asked my fiancee what she wanted for her Birthday next week. She said what she "really" wanted to go and see Madonna when she is here in July.

So i went on Ebay (since i knew it was sold out already) and paid for 2 tickets in the "golden circle" area.

So the Blue area basically.

Thats very noble of you, but I would have thought Madonna could easily afford to buy her own tickets... :2 cents: :winkwink:

Someone here posted that they were giving a few Madonna tickets away a few years back, in LA.

My buddy ended up with them and I think the value was almost $2k.

I think you got a deal for prime tickets.

Yeah i was actually surprised they were so "cheap" for down the front, haha.

The venue is Scotland's national rugby stadium.

Hello and welcome to Murrayfield McStadium.

I see you're here for the Madonna concert.

Please hand in your car keys & testicles at the door.

Thank you for your co-operation.

justinsain 02-13-2012 12:26 PM

Have fun :thumbsup

I just looked at my Madonna ticket stub from May 10th, 1985 at the Orlando Arena
and even though it had a reserved seat number on it, I remember that the ground
floor was standing room only on a first come basis. We waited at the gate to open and then
ran to the stage and ended up about nine people back and center stage.

Price on the ticket says $15.00 tax included :)

Yeah pretty sure that's what will happen with this one. Everyone in the 'golden circle' area just running in first to grab the best space next to the stage.

Should be fun! :1orglaugh

It amazes me how much tickets to some things cost my partner went to see Glee and it was £80+ a ticket, I am going to Kerrang/Relentless this week and it cost me £20 per ticket. Something seriously wrong there.

I saw Pink Floyd at the Tampa Football Stadium and they had seating on the field all the way to the stage ( no standing room )
with a nice beer tent on the 50 yard line so you never had to leave the field.

For that concert I had tickets about 30 yards from the stage on the ground and they had speakers placed all the way around the stadium. When they played that money song and it had the part where the cash register rings it would go from one set of speakers to another as it revolved around the stadium. It was a stadium concert with true surround sound. To this day that was the best sounding concert I've ever been to. it was like watching Pink Floyd play live on stage while listening with headphones. It was that good. After the concert we hit Mons on the way home and it was downhill after that :upsidedow

I went to watch Janet Jackson for pretty much the same reasons (about 100 years ago) - we were standing in the golden circle and people were passing out left and right

Have fun

I saw The Cramps, on the last date of their world tour, but not as a fan who purchased tickets - I was brought in backstage as a friend of the caterer from the tour...

So I saw the concert, but other than that, I've never been to a concert off of my own volition...

justinsain 02-13-2012 02:12 PM

Between my first concert in 1976 ( Lynyrd Skynyrd & Atlanta Rhythm Section ) and my last in 2005 ( Sarah McLachlan )
I'd say I've been to about 150 concerts.
Everyone from Blondie in a small venue to the Stones in a stadium.
It was certainly a huge part of my youth and some of the best times I've ever had :winkwink:.

I had 2 tickets in the red area a few years back. Was looking forward to it and then on the day, the fucking stage collapsed killing a few resulting in it being cancelled.
Took me 4 months to get a refund pfffft.

jimbaman 02-13-2012 04:05 PM

nice gift !

SuckOnThis 02-13-2012 04:29 PM

I saw the Stones, Heart, George Thorogood, and 707 at CU stadium in Boulder, Co for $17 in 1981, we were in the 3rd row.

Vjo 02-13-2012 08:21 PM

Hope ya have fun and ya must be doing well :thumbsup but imo Madonna isnt worth $225 a seat.

In 1984 she was worth $20 but at 53.. Still, do enjoy yourself. Money is a relative thing. :)

Vjo 02-13-2012 08:31 PM

OK just seen you spent it on your fiance.. then it is ok :thumbsup That is different :)

raymor 02-13-2012 08:58 PM

Remember when concerts were to promote albums, so tickets were $20-$25. Now nobody buys albums so tickets for has-beens are $225.

Vjo 02-13-2012 09:15 PM

Sinatra in his last years, Tony Bennett maybe but Madonna?

But yeah they want to keep making that big money. Has to be some serious money coming in if they get close to selling out that stadium. And that is only one concert.

Kind of a scam agreed, but I guess people will pay it since she has a worldwide audience.

Well if you're going to choose one concert to see in your entire life, you could do a lot worse than The Cramps.

Madonna takes a big cock

Fetish Gimp 02-14-2012 02:24 AM

I spent fifteen dollars to see a donkey show featuring a redheaded midget in an abandoned cockfighting ring in Tijuana.

Best ROI ever.

Probably, haha.

But we've never seen her before anyway and i'm guessing this time will be her last tour. Surely...

jigg 02-14-2012 03:49 AM

tix for the blue area is good. What's the point otherwise

Funny thing. My wife asked for the same thing when Madonna was in Barcelona last year. I was not too happy to go, but we were in the same type of area, right in front of the stage, we could actually touch the stage and Madonna was less than 1m away. Well, she was pretty amazing. I can tell you she has a great body for her age and she is giving 100% on stage.

You'll have a good time ;)

BlackCrayon 02-14-2012 11:50 AM

wish i would of bought some tickets just to resell. she sold out here in 20 minutes.
