And the % is high.

I'm thinking of mainly the Left4Dead games here, but there are others as well.

Feel free to add to the list:

1. Idiots who enter a game and kill all their teammates just for the hell of it. (then gets votekicked)
2. Kids that won't stop talking into their mic, with their high baby voices that yap incessantly about little and nothing.
3. The so-called "expert" -- the guy who wants everyone else to play his way, telling everyone what to do and getting pissed off when they don't listen.
5. The return of the guy who was votekicked, who comes back in and kills everyone again, again for the hell of it.
6.Teams/groups of douchebags who gang-kill and/or votekick anyone who they think isn't up to their level of play.
7. The loner -- this tool has no sense of teamwork whatsoever, always goes off by himself and invariably gets his ass in a sling, risking the entire team.

In my time playing some of these games I've come to realize that the % of assholes is quite high. If it says 5,000 players are currently online you can bet your last dollar that over 1000 of them are douchebags of one sort or another.

its no different in paintball really.. there's no consequences so they can get away with whatever they want.

if they had 'refs' or admins you could control it much better. Plus have sections with particular rules and if you break them you get tossed from it for 24 hours.

8. The asshats who can't behave themselves the moment they encounter a female gamer in the group.

9. "The Hero" -- the guy who thinks he is so much better than everyone else that he takes on the entire enemy single-handedly. Usually ends up getting owned but on rare occasions is the real deal and ends up hogging the whole game. Proclaims himself MVP at games' end (right before getting votekicked :D )

I was having fun playing Killing Floor and Payday: The Heist until I kept ending up playing with retards. You're right though, when I used to play Left 4 Dead, it had a HORRIBLE community.

I played Xbox for a bit, and it was horrible. Kids would just come into the game and scream obscenities about Obama or what not - They didn't play, just screamed. Pass.

With PC we get our own servers. People do stupid stuff, we kick and ban. Console games are for kids.

I play COD 4 every day. Love it.

old Ultima Online,... now THAt was multiplayer and true PVP.i miss the old days of MMORPG.

this modern gaming shit is childs play and takes no skill like old video games. all modern games are basically made to hold your hand, world of warcraft for example, is the easiest game on earth it takes zero skill.

Ill take Ultima Online pre-carebear before any modern game.

This is the same as my friends little brother. He playing Minecraft most afternoons and he plays and screams like a little girl when someone pulls out a sword and hits him. He runs then dies normal - falling in lava etc.
Most of those Minecraft players like about 8-12 years old. But I got to say they are very creative players. Just not mature.

That's bullshit. Some raid boss encounters take up to a month to beat and require impeccable team work and high personal IQ.

After spending time on battlefield, was fun to encounter who was left playing black ops...chat off the hook, and funny as hell

Left4Dead is definitely not a game I'd let any kid of mine under 15 play. It's a pure gorefest from start to finish.

As an adult though I must say it's quite the hoot. :D

On PS Network, I've found that French people are the most annoying. I can't even count the number of times I've had to leave a game because some French kid was babbling non-stop, and playing loud techno music. We should just nuke France right now.

Man I used to absolutely own the fuck out of people in Ultima Online.

I stopped playing it when they let people build houses all over the damn world and you could not go anywhere without feeling like you were in the damn ghetto.

the wow kids will never understand how different siege perilous was to the carebear world they created.

we created pvp in ultima online, killing another player would flag you as murderer and it was true player justice and was dificult to survive as murderer (real challenge ) cant enter towns etc... people need look up Garriot and what pvp really is/was.

warcraft has been carebear since day one... i dont care what anyone says the game (wow) is not challenging, it just takes hours and hours and hours of your day no skill required, just grinding the same thing over and over, kill 10 of these go kill 20 of those and bring back the feathers,... oh so challenging LOL

Ultima Online would have wow players crying after i PKed them and take their precious garments they stayed up all year trying to get.

carebears make me laugh. and have since the old Siege Perilous days. just because they make the boss fights take 2 hours in wow doesnt make it hard it just makes it take longer, lol if wow was actually challening 12 year old wouldnt be able to play it. LOL

I play WoW, SWTOR, EQ2, etc and have literally never encountered any of these. If they can't spell, don't group, then you get none of that. If they can spell and type, they are usually normal and reasonable. If they throw one fit, ungroup, unguild, whatever. Only play with people who want to play a GAME and have fun.
