Jeremiah Franco and Carin Shreve, both from California, watched consecutive episodes of The Simpsons for 86 hours and 37 minutes.

100 fans took part in The Simpsons Ultimate Fan Marathon, which was held in Los Angeles at the weekend.

Contestants were allowed to eat and drink throughout the challenge but not fall asleep.

Franco and Shreve each won Simpsons merchandise along with a cash prize of $10,500

Fucking love the old Simpsons.

$10k for 86 hours, not bad if you're jacked up on something. I assume there was no piss testing involved...

Uhh... they got paid, yo. $10k is a fuckload for a teenager, and a year's worth of money for some adults. For a family it can be a 1-2 years worth of food. A few years private school tuition. A nice used car. Hookers, booze, electronics. And you can buy a lot of coke for $10k. $10,000 worth, to be precise. :winkwink:

I once worked for 3 days straight and felt like I could have kept going. Since then I've wanted to take part in one of these competitions. I can't see anyone being able to beat me.

Fuck 86 hours is just insane. I think the longest I've gone in about 30ish. I was just exhausted and felt like shit for a couple days after.

I played Xenosaga part 1 for 36 hours straight when it came out.

What boggles me is not the fact that I was able to do it. but how did I managed to finish it in one shot, since it's not a great game at all.

With enough Pervitin you could be watching them for whole week I guess :) I love episodes from 2-10 season, then it is getting worse, but there are still some good jokes in it. Well I think today American Dad, Family Guy, Futurama and maybe even South Park are much better than Simpsons, but they started it all.

I enjoy the Simpsons but they must be running out of plot lines.

They ran out around season 9. Everything since then has been fucking shit. :2 cents:
