Its a very good movie, a lil cheesy, but every hockey or comedy fan should look at it, very funny and better than expected

It was funny.

its a comedy, its not just about hockey.

I know. The "American Reunion" and "Tucker & Dale vs Evil" were not about hockey too but they were at least funny (especially the 2nd movie) :2 cents:

Funny Factors:

• Sheer Brutality in fight scenes
• Amount of fighting
• Sidekick's persona and vulgarity of his language
• Jewish mother and father ashamed/embarrassed of:
  
  • Gay son
  • Fighting Hockey Son
• Hockey Team Personalities and Dynamics
  • Perverted Russian brothers - constantly making fun of their own goalie
  • Aging veteran
  • Oversensitive team member
• Based on a real minor league player who played 10 seasons (more than 60 games), didn't score a goal and had more than 400 penalty minutes.
  

I had my doubts about it mainly because I loathe that dude's acting usually.....Sean William Scott....but this was actually a good movie

There are very few movies I will watch more than once, and I have already seen Goon twice. Good flick.

its not bad, not great though, just not as funny as i was expecting, has a serious side.

Liked it and I agree that hockey fans would like it and it is sort of this generation's Slapshot.

It isn't what I thought it was going to be and that is a good thing as I was pleasantly surprised that it was as good as it was; just like Slapshot, it had laughs, but drama too, so it wasn't just a bunch of slapstick, no pun intended.

I still hate the way people shoot the on ice action footage, but at least they got that down better than Tooth Fairy... :winkwink:

Definitely got the locker room dialog down; lot's of funny lines...

And even my daughter who is not a hockey fan per se liked the movie.

Nice to see Stiffler doing new projects. But he does look less and less cool as he gets older. Maybe time to switch to different types of roles?
