Canadian Webmasters Would You Register a .ca Domain . . . ?

Would you register a .ca domain for a paysite?

Your reason(s) for saying yes or no would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks.

I buy .com and .ca domains for any website I intend on developing.

You're gonna lose some traffic / type-ins to whoever has the .com, if it is already taken, but other than that, I can't think of a reason not to use .ca domains.

what about appearing on Google.com, would it screw that from happening?

Having a .ca is a great way to reach Canadian surfers who are using Google. Not to mention lots of domains are available whereas their .com counterpart is not.

WG is right. I have bought a few and will buy more.

Get the .ca when the .com is not available/squatted... but always try for the .com first - the .ca will always rank lower unless you do a really bad SEO job...

.com, .net and .org always first.

I can't recall ever seeing a .org paysite...I've seen lots of .ca ones

To get a .ca you have to prove you live in Canada. If you do, .ca's worth getting.
