Site script needed - uploading pictures via phone is the premise
 

I have a couple year old domain that is intended to allow members to upload their photos and videos via their cell phone. I have done nothing with it and from recollection the problem was adult pictures and the phone app needed was not allowed.

Now that it is a couple years later I am thinking their must be something available. Basically, any full site design scripts available for mobile upload of vids/pictures and display?

I'd really rather skip the step of paying a programmer and designer 1000's to create it ;)

I believe the way it's done (outside of creating an app or something of course) is you have them email the picture in question to some [email protected] email, and then you have a script checking and parsing attachments.

Code monkey is right on (as usual) - I use that method for a Tumblr script that handshakes with their API. Email is the photo, unique email address is the user and subject line is the caption/photo title.

However... I was more trying to find a *purchase* and install script and have the site up and working immediately. Like a mechbunny script ;)

There are scripts out there. I research them a year or two ago. Do some digging you'll find them.

its not really out there yet. i've done the email idea above, using gmail to handle the the mails.

one of the hang ups is that iOS does not allow safari to access/upload images at all. other thing i was toying with (but haven't seriously deployed) was using Picup to get around that. basically the iOS user would have to install this (free) app, then it takes over the upload form elements on detection, sends the image to a free image host, and then posts back to you so you can take over from there.

I'll check out phpfox. I actually have a license for that script I intended to use on another site. Forgot the reason why I bailed on it. I did not remember it catering to cell phone uploads, maybe a feature on the newer versions?
