How important is language to you?

Do actors HAVE to speak English or your native language?
Do you HAVE to know what they are saying exactly or is what is happening on screen or a short blurb fine?

Is the most important thing hot chicks, hot action? Rest does not matter.

If it is a serous piece I think it is better that people speak in their native languages, for more light hearted porn I think a foreign accent can be sexy and fun....

I think Russian, French Czech and Hungarian are very romantic sexy languages....

but if in doubt its how hot the girl is that is most important for us...

for me it's essential and not always a scripted dialogue. For solo girl I love it when the girl looks off the screen at me and shares her enjoyment or deliberately teases and flirts with me. For couples, yes I want them to communicate with each other and for Gonzo with the camera as well.

Hot action from performers requires them to put a lot of themselves and personality into a scene. It has to sizzle and talking helps sometimes. Yes there's a problem with foreign girls talking in English and they can speak the native tongue. To get it right, don't use foreign models. Or models who are plastic and churn out a scene on auto pilot.

Personal opinion from both porn and watching a lot of foreign movies is that speaking their own language even if I can't understand it conveys emotion better than a wooden attempt at English.

Language is a big problem for me because I live in a non English speaking country but want to produce ridiculously high quality porn for the English speaking market.

In high quality, well produced porn, dialogue is very important. I agree that there are guys who just turn the sound down and wank off to anything but they do not present every user. Sophisticated porn carries a story with it that should make the whole scene 10x more sexy.

A good example is girlfriendsfilms.com they put heavy emphasis on story and fore play, the scenes usually last 30min+ and the "action" is only 10 minutes of it the rest is 10 min of talk and 10 min of softcore action....this is where the artistic aspect in porn comes in....if you are able to tell a sexy story and make the viewer feel turned on without having to resort to stuff like cumming on her eyeballs or pissing on her.

Porn with a "story" represents the pinnacle of porn, but only if done right. The story will not be enjoyed by everybody, only true porn aficionados will know to enjoy the story and let the movie take them for a "ride"...

I will mention girlfriends films again because their story telling is so good that it makes average looking girls very sexy just because of the story.

An option that I will seriously have to consider is post production sound dubbing....


This is just my opinion about sound in porn, I know many people will wank of to just about anything and not care about the finer aspects of production or the story....

I would love to see porn with performers talking in Klingon, in Elvish tongue and then Aramaic. Not necessarily in that order.

There's a very good and very simple guideline to follow in selling.

The harder it is to create, the easier it is to sell. Assuming it's in a mainstream sector.

Look at great music, films, stars, cars, etc.

Pulp is easy to turn out and too many can and do, do it. So competition is high.

Once you rise above that level yes it gets harder which isn't a problem for those who can do it. As it keeps out those who can't the rewards are higher. We can see this in our market all the time.
