Former Sacramento resident Robert Taylor, a tourist visiting his new wife in Romania, has alerted the U.S. Embassy that he was beaten and kicked by members of a contract police force who yelled anti-American epithets.

Now the embassy in Bucharest is watching the Taylor case to ensure that he receives due process under Romanian law, a State Department official in Washington, D.C., said this week.

Taylor, 32, said he fears for his own safety and that of his 24-year-old wife, Helga Sipos-Taylor, a Romanian citizen of Hungarian ethnicity and fifth-year medical student at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Targu-Mures, about 400 miles northwest of Bucharest.

man buys eastern european bride, goes to visit, by own admission is so good he's never done anything bad and is probably not streetwise at all and can't tell when a situation is going bad enough to leave. thinks he's a regular in a bar after 4or5 visits and ends up getting a slap for upsetting one of the locals.

Cant believe how many of you missed what this guy has done. Has nothing to do with getting beat up. He did this to ensure his " NEW " wife gets her papers right away upon graduation.

Don't know what momma's boy did but I tell you one thing. That gypsy country of Romania (and Albania), needs to be fenced out from the rest of Europe and entire world.

Why would anyone live in a country that doesn't like you? I can say that Brasil does not have this. Sure you can fucked up by the locals if you are an asshole but otherwise they pretty much like American in general.

The kind that reads a doctors report (or the description from his Hungarian wife) and can't convert to inches :winkwink:
