its just been on german TV (season #1) and i LOVED IT! in my (pre- and)teen years i used to read fantasy books all the time ... KANE, RAVEN, ELRIC OF MELNIBONE etc ... the swords and sorcery genre is fucktastic imho... cant wait to see season #2

I DVR'd the 1st season and have been watching it again over this last week. Having seen it once it is very cool to watch it again and see all the little hints and details I missed the first time.

Absolutely intentional.

The second that little puke walked in the door of the casting room he had the part. The second he walked out the panel was high-fiving each other.

Because he has "I'm a self-entitled little spoonfed pukeface" written all over him.

I feel bad for him, he will forever be typecast as the "self-entitled little spoonfed pukeface" who looks in-bred. Not many of those parts in hollywood.

I loved the second book when I read it and I'm getting jealous reading all these Game of Thrones threads on GFY. I really do have to track the show down somewhere. Hoping the first season is on Netflix Canada, anyone know?

Hey Suzanne, its on HBO, on both Bell and Rogers, well worth the investment with the amount of shows on it, besides you would probably pick up AMC as well, so you would get, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Hell On Wheels, and Mad Men.

As for Netflix, it sux ballz here in Canada. I know a number of people that set up american IP's just so that they can get the US version.

Thanks :thumbsup I really should look into getting HBO then. For Netflix, we were using it on vacation in the US and it picked up shows like Futurama and Family Guy that we hadn't seen up here ... then when we came back we still had access to those shows. I'm not sure if that was a glitch or if they happened become available in Canada by coincidence around that time. I generally have enjoyed Netflix so far even if I'm missing out on some US content.

This season does feel the loss of Ned Stark who provided the series a much needed center that it doesn't have yet, making its episodic nature feel even more so!

I'll be there tonight.

And for the duration of the season opener, I'll forget all about 2257 for awhile.

Maybe I missed something, but why were babies being rounded up for slaughter? Was it Joffrey's initiative to kill any possible sons of King Baratheon?

I'm gonna wait until the season is over and watch them all at once.

That's pretty much it, it was rumored he had more then one. I think it was the queen doing that, not Joffrey though.

I think this is because he knows there's a real heir somewhere, kinda Herod and the Massacre of the Innocents

Anyway, first chapter wasn't anything special, just setting the story for further development.

And I want to do all kind of nasty stuff with Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke :thumbsup
