Not Aussie but I'm a sad panda now.

papill0n 04-19-2012 12:36 AM

ahhh shit - he was an icon

AdultKing 04-19-2012 12:39 AM

I remember seeing Men at Work through my wildly drunken Uni days down at the Corner Hotel in Richmond during the early 1980's. They were great on stage, unfortunately not long after they gained success in 1983 they moved to the US and that was the last we saw of them at the pub.

My personal favorite

Darkhorse 04-19-2012 12:57 AM

Just seen the story on news.com.au no word on how he died as of yet.

Aka_Bluey 04-19-2012 03:06 AM

He was only 58, so young to die, RIP.

That video clip looks like it shows the last Australian who ever drank Fosters.

Now all we need to do is export VB :thumbsup

Really sad news for everybody who knew Greg or knew of him....the music world in particular. I remember seeing Men at Work at the Sandy Commodore in the early '80s and Greg sure was a character live on stage. Unfortunately he had been fighting some personal issues which emanated from a shitty court decision of a couple of years ago which was total BS in my opinion.

Go well Greg Ham - keep that sax and flute a-rocking!

He's the reason why we all know what a vegamite sandwich is.

R.I.P

I grew up in North Carlton, right near that house. Walked past it every day I went to primary school. Never knew I lived two blocks away from where M.A.W. were rehearsing!!!

Dunno about downsizing or anything like it..... but I think that this piece on the ABC News Australia website tonight sums it all up.
