Jeb Bush has nothing to gain and probably everything to lose by being the VP nom.

Houdini 04-19-2012 08:21 PM

Christie, Rubio, or Rand Paul

DragonsGirls 04-19-2012 08:23 PM

Ted Nugent

i would retort, he has everything to gain, nothing to lose. what is he doing now that he would lose?

also...he would get the same gain sarah palin got...a big increase in speaking fees. it would also set him up as a frontrunner for 2016.

Some no name from Montana.

ArcherJanvier 04-19-2012 09:25 PM

His best choice IMHO would be Chris Christie from New Jersey.

Someone with wit and venom. Someone to cut through the crap.

Someone to show that pissant Obama for the socialist (failure) pig that he is.

bronco67 04-19-2012 11:24 PM

He should pick Sarah Palin.

Brujah 04-21-2012 05:59 AM

George W killed the Bush name. Nobody wants to elect Bush, so I don't see Jeb Bush as a good pick. Unfortunately demographics are important (race and gender) so Rice would be a logical pick, especially against Obama for those who want to vote for the black candidate rather than actually thinking, and Clinton showed there's definitely lot of people who want to vote for a woman.

He'll learn from McCain that just because someone is a governor doesn't mean they have a clue about national and international issues, so he'll vette knowledge as well, not just demographics and political spectrum.

Christie is entertaining and very attractive to some due to his bold style, but offers nothing in terms of demographics, of playing on people's prejudices. Rice gets the votes of people who want a woman, some of the "vote black" vote, and her knowledge of international issues beats the hell out of any candidate's. On the other hand, Newt knows his stuff, has the experience, and the base likes him. Plus when Newt was speaker the economy was hot.

v4 media 04-21-2012 06:57 AM

Condi, gives you the women and some of the black vote.

BFT3K 04-21-2012 09:08 AM

Most likely it will be Jeb Bush.

or maybe this...

My guess is that Romney won't pick anyone, or be allowed to pick anyone, Instead, the GOP will pick for him. It's common knowledge that the GOP lacks confidence in Romney's ability to win so they will have to pick someone they think can bring votes with them.

My best guess is Rubio or Jeb Bush. Despite being yet another Bush, he's popular in Florida and Florida is needed for a win. I think Rubio is popular with Latino's and Romney desperately needs them too (last poll said something like only 14% of latinos like him).

If asked I bet Christi will say no. I think he would rather take a shot at the prez's seat in 2016.

Palin won;t be chosen of course (too bad! What a show that would be).

Yeah I believe him when he says he's not a #2, he's very much an alpha male.

Palin would be hilarious but if it's gotta be a woman Michele Bachmann seems more likely to my very untrained eye (I don't pay a lot of attention to politics, esp Republicans)

Maybe he'll just go with Moderate Romney and Conservative Romney on the same ticket, to sure up both groups...

porno jew 04-21-2012 01:48 PM

rand paul. ron cut a deal to lay off romney as well as to not go third party if rand is given the vp a long time ago.

Barry-xlovecam 04-21-2012 01:54 PM

Some southern state governor with little to lose ...

ninavain 04-21-2012 02:45 PM

no one cares since he will lose anyway

Brujah 04-23-2012 07:00 PM

Republican White House hopeful Mitt Romney dodged mounting speculation Monday about a potential running mate, even with Senator Marco Rubio, the man now in the VP spotlight, standing right beside him.

I don't think it will be Jeb Bush. As other people said, the Bush name still leaves a sour taste in people's mouths and the last thing Romney wants is to give Obama ammo. With Bush on the ticket every stop on the Obama campaign trail will include him reminding people that Jeb's brother drove the country into the ground.

There is no chance of it being Newt. He can resonate with the right wing nutjob base, but pretty much everyone other than them hates him.

I think it will be either Rubio or Christie. Christie seems like he is well liked and he comes off kind of like an average dude you would have a beer with. He could help Romney offset the image problem he has of being born into privilege and having nothing in common with average people. He might even be able to help him make New Jersey competitive. Rubio is from Florida so he can help Romney win Florida. He is also Cuban so he can help Romney court some of the Hispanic vote away from Obama.

I'm surprised none of you "geniuses" even mentioned the name.

Bush will not accept a VP nod.
Rubio has already indicated he doesn't want it either.
Christie is too fat.

It will be Rice or Pawlenty

astronaut x 04-23-2012 10:49 PM

I wouldn't doubt a Bush and Rubio ticket in 2016.
