I just noticed Xhamster have own cams, was launched 5 March:

It looks much like chaturbate (the cam contest and most layout however was originally from cam4.com , most chaturbate rooted on cam4 + mfc mix). But they must have seen our tubecamgirl.com too, as they display the crown icon to the top tipper in userlist same as us, so nice to see we're trending for some detail too.

They still have some links to the streamate whitelabel xhamstercams.com ; now I wonder those big tubes as xvideos or manwin's pornhub's all have streamate whitelabels, will it make sense they make own cams or no - manwin owns webcams.com but sends traffic to streamate whitelabels so I assume own cam site is less profit than revshare of 3rd party streamate's for now.

that looks like a good addition to their site, even more traffic for them now.

And and some VOD sites made own cams too, but they seem not to have enough traffic unlike the big tubes.

AEBN vod site re-launched xpeeps.com as a cam site (previously an adult blog) who so much looks like mfc (in this very moment no models online - some time there's 3-5).

From late 2010 the vod site SkinVideo have own cams, also mfc-like: www.skinvideo.com/cam , normally 2-5 models online too.

Of course the point for a tube to make the own cam is to keep all them money since not need to pay any affiliate :)
The question of the post it was - what if the biggest tubes do own cams instead of use whitelabels.

Probably MW already has some ties with Streamate. If you checkout MW future new affiliate program you can see which cam platform they promote (www.legendarystats.com)

Duh. Because webmasters don't get cam money, that means it's free, which means in turn they are rolling in cash and actually getting paid.

Stability for one. You know they aren't going to shut down because they can't afford it much less run away with a webmaster's pay check
Members - when surfers check in they'll see more than just 3 girls or so because they company can't afford to get more. Members love to see a selection and also a busy community to get involved in.
Strength and flexibility - Due to the fact they have strength to afford special offers, better models along with flexibility to members is what they can offer
Pricing - smaller cam company's simply can't afford lower profit margins because they don't have enough business flowing to cut "coins/tokens" if need be
Promotions - members trust cam company's with their CC over those they barely heard of. So when they advertise their name is legit to surfers. Promoting on a website you're more than likely to see a sale because you're member trusts and knows that this cam company isn't fly by night and they'll get quality and quantity not a limited supply of cam girls who may be gone tomorrow.
