The Sell and Buy forum is completely fucked

There needs to be a rule in there that you cannot bump more than 4 or 5 of your threads in a 24 hour period. Instead of making one content or domain sale thread and keeping it bumped, they make one thread for each set of content they have or for each domain they have for sale, then bump them all everyday.

That makes that forum useless for everyone else.

No, it's "Sell and Buy Forum", not "Buy and Sell Forum"

ottopottomouse 06-07-2012 04:09 AM

Completely wrecks New Posts too. :disgust

Nurgle 06-07-2012 04:33 AM

Someone should volunteer to be the mod for it but only if you have deleting power. That would clean it up quick.

jimmycooper 06-07-2012 04:56 AM

ninavain said what?

Markul 06-07-2012 05:06 AM

Or split it into a forum that sells content and one that sells everything else... content sellers seems to be what's flooding it these days.

Agreed.

Furthermore, I think that GFY should charge a $20-36.00 per posting fee like other forums (WHT, WF, WickedFire, etc.), and allow one bump per month or whatever it is they do. It tends to vary, but I think most can see that in this economy, the B&S is getting out of control.

This would help to filter out the REAL BUSINESS from the junk cluttering the forum. People would not be so quick to make 50 threads for different complete junk domains, or other crap.

:2 cents:

MaDalton 06-07-2012 05:42 AM

i gave up making threads there because shortly after usually 1 or 2 people bump their 50 threads before anyone gets a chance to see mine

Why $36.... why not $35... or $40.. WHY 36?! I need to know.... I cannot rest until I know why you came up with that number! :pimp

ottopottomouse 06-07-2012 05:48 AM

Just for comparison - a WSO is $40 to post and $40 per bump.

fredmiranda.com a photo site charges I think $25 a yr to post in the buy/sell forum they have.

Klen 06-07-2012 06:48 AM

No need to charge for it,enough to limit 1 post per day in that section.

I believe that is what WickedFire charges. The prices vary by board. Some are higher, some lower. Some also allow you to bump the thread once per month. However, many others out there actually charge you PER POST into the B&S, and you now can see why. To eliminate the bumping and junk dealers. Some even limit how long it's live before it's locked. Eliminating the daily "bumps".

:2 cents:

selena 06-07-2012 07:45 AM

Agreed.

I went there earlier this week, and the first few pages were basically full of posts from two people. One a content provider and one a domain seller. They were fresh posts too, not like the forum just hadn't been updated.

I didn't have time to dick around wading through that, so I just went elsewhere to find what I was looking for.

Yeah, but that still leaves manilaagent.

st0ned 06-07-2012 09:20 AM

100% agree. Though I don't do much buying and selling I have snagged a few domains and stuff from there over the years.

However now when I look in that section I generally close out real quick because it is filled with nothing but ninavain's content among other shit.

Fix this GFY/AVN!

I already responded earlier...you won't see me bumping simultaneous threads any longer

Count me in. Limiting posts/bumps per day could be awesome and very useful for both sellers and buyers. :pimp

CIVMatt 06-07-2012 12:27 PM

It's getting fucking stupid... either the bumps or the "I have hot-teen-girls-smiling.org and I'm asking $4000"

u-Bob 06-07-2012 02:57 PM

They should only allow people who've been here for over a year and have at least 1000 posts to start threads there.

Agreed 100%

PSD 06-09-2012 12:06 PM

Agreed, although part of the problem is there is also too much stuff for sale lumped into one forum. How about a dedicated section for Buy and Sell and then have separate forums for domains, content, all other?

halfpint 06-09-2012 02:39 PM

its the sign of the times everybody wanting to sell

V_RocKs 06-09-2012 02:54 PM

Would also be nice if there was a up/down button on each post. Give it a 1/5 chance of actually moving a post...

Then if a guy bumps his 25 domain names and 50 of us call bullshit he is stuck at page 2...

If somebody has a very relevant product and 50 say yea, and 15 babies say nay, his bump will still work...

Somebody with a -200 negative average can't post... period.

But I also wouldn't mind paying!
