I don't see why he can't be out on bond. I doubt he is a threat to anyone, and he's not a flight risk. He's just a dumb fuck.

There are a few rare cases when it's safer for the defendant to remain in jail awaiting trial if he values his life. This may be one of those cases. There really are people who seem motivated to kill him.
