Lifetime guarantee means it either will work or they'll kill ya, hehe.

Congrats, it sounds like a decent deal unless it cost a million dollars or whatever.

fuzebox 07-26-2012 11:48 AM

You had it today and you're not keeping your eyes closed for 24 hours?

nope, not necessary

helterskelter808 07-26-2012 12:13 PM

Can you see/focus on things really close up? It might be better to try this when it settles, or anyone else who had it might know, but I always wondered if it had the same problem as contacts. With contacts, much more than glasses, viewing things really close up is difficult/impossible. No focus. But at least contacts and glasses can be removed and viewing with the naked eye close up is sharp. I would hate to have surgery and then have permanent blurred/unfocused vision when looking at things very close up.

Ahh at that price I guess you got touchless... I forgot the 24 hour thing is just to make sure the incisions heal.

lucas131 07-26-2012 12:23 PM

congrats my friend, let all be well! :thumbsup

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-26-2012 12:26 PM

I had that done 10 years ago for $10,000, my vision is damn near perfect still. No regrets.

i must not rub my eyes for a month, thats what they said, that could misplace the flap of cornea they cut before the correction

Vapid - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-26-2012 12:32 PM

You are going to want to open your eyes slowly in the morning. They are healing and have scabs which your eyelids can rip off at first.

Jim_Gunn 07-26-2012 12:34 PM

Hope you heal well. I have bad vision in both eyes and have thought about that procedure over the years but I'm tested at 20-15 vision with my daily disposable contacts. And I'd rather not take the risk of complications to the health of my eyes.

ShoeBox 07-26-2012 12:36 PM

I've been thinking about this Mr dalton , i'm tired of putting my contacts in and out and wearing glasses when they aren't in !

Would do it again in a heartbeat :)

Yeah, I was thinking of something like threading a needle. Not necessarily that but similar closeness. Contacts are good for better field of vision, and great for long distance but close up sucks. I totally envy people who can wake up in the morning and be able to see clearly.

That reminds me of reading or seeing it on TV when I was a kid, when they did it in the Soviet Union, before lasers, so IIRC they cut the eye by hand. Even with lasers I'd be too scared something went wrong.

ottopottomouse 07-26-2012 12:54 PM

I'd be to worried it would go wrong.

O MARINA 07-26-2012 12:56 PM

That's great you did it.
I think I would be way too paranoid and too scared after reading some disaster site online about it that someone posted before.
No more nerd glasses for you :D

SekobA 07-26-2012 12:59 PM

That's great.can you read this :) joking

I need the same surgery but not sure if im ready for it.Glad for you

JosephFM 07-26-2012 01:06 PM

I have been thinking about going thru eye laser surgery myself. I currently use contacts and I have 2 pairs of eye glasses. I go about two weeks with contacts and another two weeks with the glasses (to rest the eyes from the contacts).

If I go thru with it I'm still gonna get a pair of glasses (without prescription of course) since girls dig the nerdy, smart look from my experience and they look quite good on me.

danevans 07-26-2012 01:19 PM

Congrats! post an update tomorrow :)
I've been reluctant to do it here (eastern europe) similar price, they say they're good and sound serious, but I still have a feeling I should be getting it done in the states (which makes the trip a hassle instead of leisure). And I'm so sick of contacts & not being able to look while diving or in waterparks and whatnot..

DWB 07-26-2012 01:33 PM

How was the procedure? Any pain or discomfort?

DWB 07-26-2012 01:35 PM

Forgot... where did you do it?

shake 07-26-2012 01:44 PM

I want to get that done as well, my vision has been very stable for 10 years now so I should really look into it. Glasses are a pain, and contacts get so dry when looking at a computer screen.

L-Pink 07-26-2012 01:46 PM

Hope it's not the same one Nalem used!

.

TisMe 07-26-2012 03:21 PM

So how many fingers am I holding up? :)

tical 07-26-2012 03:26 PM

I did it too, best investment ever made. I would recommend it to anyone even considering it.

It is painless. At worst, you're just AWARE of what is going on when they make the incision. The laser part literally takes 1 or 2 seconds.

I had both eyes incised and lasered and the whole process took less than 10 minutes. Immediately after, you sit up in the chair and have you read an eye chart where you realize you have awesome vision.

After your procedure they give you something to make you fall asleep when you go home so that your eyes can stay closed for a while I guess. The first day it felt like my eyes were a little dry / I had something small and scratchy in them. After that, everything felt normal.

There's no insane desire to rub your eyes or anything like that.

helterskelter808 07-26-2012 03:29 PM

Can you smell the burning?

myjah 07-26-2012 04:18 PM

Congrats! Definitely post update tomorrow...after 24 hours my eyesight was completely clear, absolutely one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

Alice22 07-26-2012 04:52 PM

Congrats!

I made it a few month ago. Well, mine was very painful, but it's a PRK, i guess you did lasic.

Freaky_Akula 07-26-2012 06:52 PM

Did it hurt?

Konda 07-26-2012 06:54 PM

I did it a few years ago, one of the best decisions in my life.
No more annoying contacts, and I was spending crazy amounts on contacts so it was a good choice financially as well.

The procedure is so fast and simple. You come in, lay down, they do their work (just a few minutes) and you can see clearly right away. It's a bit sensitive the first day, but after that it's like you have perfect eyes.

Also, for the people that are afraid or that it's risky, it's not at all. It's a bit scary, but it's not risky.

nakeddutch 07-26-2012 07:02 PM

Rest up bro. :thumbsup

2MuchMark 07-26-2012 08:10 PM

Nice. I have to wear 2 different kinds of glasses now to live my life and its driving me nuts. I want to get laser eye surgery but I'm afraid to do it.

Don't be afraid, it will change your life!

Of course there are risks involved, just as with everything else in life. Laser eye surgery has never resulted in anyone going blind. If there are complications they are usually small and easily treatable.

mce 07-26-2012 08:32 PM

Congrats on making the move. I had Lasik 10 years ago. One of the best investments I ever made. Shouts out to LA Laser Eye Center.

but i rather wear those when i read or sit at the computer but be able to go outside, swim play football, drive etc without glasses after all those years

Paul&John 07-27-2012 01:00 AM

i've done it around 5 years ago.. still good ;)

kazymjir 07-27-2012 01:18 AM

Laser eye surgery is not a good thing. You will see it when the night comes or you will be in dark places. Lens effect and blurred light is what you will see.

Also, it's not a good move to do such a surgery in Czech instead of Germany. Germany is worldwide leader in medicine. This is fact that they are a lot more expensive, but you pay for their great quality.
This is your health. This is your eyes. There is no room for saving money for such things.

Btw, I have -3.0 and -2.75. I am using contact lenses and it is great. You completely do not feel them in eyes and after few months you will even forget that you have eyes defects.

Nydahl 07-27-2012 01:28 AM

hey man - means you could finaly learn how to take some pics with camera right:1orglaugh?
ok just kidding - good move my friend :thumbsup
