Something's in the house and the dogs know it.

Dogs see things we don't and having them around makes me feel so much better when that crap happens.

Ghosts aggravate me. They come from the other side but the only thing they do is open doors and move things around

candyflip 08-06-2012 10:29 AM

All those "effects" in the video are easily recreated thanks to digital video and programs like After Effects.

Fake.

Great! Now some no talent hack will start another ghost hunter type reality show featuring dogs

Orbs are cool - and they are definitely proof of the existance of ghosts... Or dust...

My dog dozes off, lies on his back - with his lips a-quivering and his little feet all a-shaking. Then he jumps up and barks at nothing. Once he's completely awake, he looks at me with an expression on his face that says, "Oops! I'm stupid! I'm just a dog..."

Then he goes back to sleep and chases something else in his dreams.

Those dogs look more interested in the guy behind the camera fucking with the radio than anything else...

Next time remember you're walking on a wooden floor

You must have taken the same Communiversity class I did. "How to Fake Psychic Powers."

Radio interference is smart. Covers up most the noise you're making and distracts the viewer. Low level quality helps hides the strings on the paper towel and door knob.

Sucks fakes can be produced so easily, but it was good for a thrill.

atalkingapple 08-06-2012 09:02 PM

You don't need digital anything. There are many more practical ways to do what was done. For example:

The jolts that opened and closed the door were short and strong. You can tell this because the closet door slows down as it opens or closes. Had it been a steady hand of sorts, it wouldn't have accelerated / decelerated like that. I didn't see any strings so a "practical" way of doing it would have been to simply hide behind the wall where the door hinges are, and press (and pull) the door open and closed.

The Paper Towel trick is easy. You will notice that the far-end of the paper towels is off the edge of the table. Someone or something behind the table and out of camera shot, only has to pull down hard on that end of the paper towel to make it spin. The force of the spin would bring the paper towels up and towards the couch.

As for the dogs, you cannot see what they are reacting to because whatever it is is behind the camera. The owner could have used a dog whistle or any other very high frequency device that the dogs could hear (and puzzle over) that the camera microphone would not.

The only thing worse than the idiots who make these videos to pass off as "Real" are the people who believe them. Be a skeptical thinker.
