Question about setting up a video machine
Machine comes with 10 GB of RAM. Will be running Sony Vegas Pro 11.0.
Will I see improvement by upgrading to 16 GB of RAM? This is the video card: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o03_s00_i02 |
You'd see more of an improvement putting the money towards the processor, if there is still room to upgrade there.

Processor: 2nd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3960X six-core processor [3.3GHz, Shared 15MB Cache]

probably write out all the specs in one post, would be easier to follow...
but sounds like you built a solid machine... what drives did you pick? |

Windows 7 Home Premium [64-bit] ? 2nd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3960X six-core processor [3.3GHz, Shared 15MB Cache] ? FREE UPGRADE to 10GB DDR3-1600MHz SDRAM [3 DIMMs] from 8GB ? FREE UPGRADE to 2TB 7200 rpm hard drive from 1TB ? 1GB AMD Radeon HD 7570 [DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter] (replacing this) ? 600W Power supply ? SuperMulti DVD Burner ? Wireless-N LAN card (1x1) ? 15-in-1 memory card reader, 2 USB 2.0 (front), 2 USB 3.0 (top) |
the most important thing for vegas 11 is a good video card yours qualifies....with that card you can encode h.264 MASSIVELY faster than you could with an 8 core processor....10GB ram is plenty
