Live Presidential debate thread

Fuck! Romney is not doing as bad as I thought he would do... but his biggest goof: "I will cut funding to PBS:.

ReggieDurango 10-03-2012 07:01 PM

Why isn't Obama dominating him more, wtf?!?!?!?!

2MuchMark 10-03-2012 07:03 PM

I know this is weird. Romney is doing well. He even looks and sounds "presidential". This romney is a new romney.

Come on Obama kick his ass!

#debate

mromro 10-03-2012 07:11 PM

Obama is noding his head in agreement with everything Romney is saying. I bet Obama wants to vote for Romney after this ass kicking. People are seeing the true Obama now. just a dope commie that was elected on a feel good vote.

alias 10-03-2012 07:16 PM

The penis inspection & measuring at the end will make it all worth watching.

mromro 10-03-2012 07:16 PM

The candidates in the debate:

Obama - " I feel, I believe, I think"

Romney - "This is how it works, This is what you do, This is how it is"

MK Ultra 10-03-2012 07:19 PM

Okay he convinced me, I'm voting for Robama

... or was it Obamney?

crap, now I have to change the channel back and watch some more :disgust

Tom_PM 10-03-2012 07:20 PM

Of course it's a new Romney. That guy just reinvents himself every time he gets pinned down on a point. He campaigns for a year and a half on a plan, and tonight (coincidence I'm sure) he says that's not my plan.
Obama could have nailed him by saying "Jim, it looks like he wants to go all Bain Capital on your job."
:1orglaugh

Helix 10-03-2012 07:32 PM

Surprisingly bad performance by Obama. I have to award this round to Romney.

Mutt 10-03-2012 07:33 PM

Big victory for Romney - looked and sounded very presidential. Obama was too meek, should have showed more emotion, taken the gloves off.

aztecboi2003 10-03-2012 07:40 PM

Obama was dominated by Romney. Once Romney took it to the ground he was able to easily pass Obama's guard get in some good ground and pound. Obama tried for a arm bar when Romney left it out there but he easily pulled it out and took Obama's back. Let's see what happens in Round 2

tony286 10-03-2012 07:43 PM

Mitt won , he came off great. Obama was awful.

There's a simple explanation Mark, for once you get to see both of them in raw form, no talking head or two bit host on MSNBC to tell you what they said and what you should think.

Does anyone have a link to what Obama kept saying was Romneys plan?

Romney himself kept saying that what Obama said was NOT in his plan. It is HIS plan after all right? So if you make a plan and I try to say that your plan says "X" and you tell me "No, it's Y"....then who is right?

I'm gonna have to go with the person whose plan it actually is. Unless you have a link to somewhere that shows Romney's plan is what Obama tried to paint it as.

Doesn't it seem strange that a sitting President whose "plan" has been the one we're dealing with the for the last four years spent a lot of time trying to debunk a "plan" of Romney's in which Obama said in one breath had no details to it and in the next breath tried to paint a picture of the damn details that he claimed didn't exist! :1orglaugh

I'm voting for Gary Johnson.
But between these two clowns: Round 1 to Romney. Obama didn't look good at all. And on CNN they had the Undecided Voter meter going the whole time. It reflected that even though Obama hogged up about 4 minutes more talking time than Romney got.

Sly 10-03-2012 07:48 PM

Wait.

The great orator of our time wasn't so great?

I don't believe it.

epitome 10-03-2012 07:48 PM

This is funny...

"Romney looked and sounded more Presidential" and therefore he won, but when Obama was up in 2008 his smooth ways was a bad thing according to the Republicans. So now Romney is doing what Obama did and it's a great thing.

Meanwhile, Romney still hasn't spelled out what his plan actually includes. Obama gave quite a few details on exactly what he wanted to do. Romney was busy pointing the figure about what is wrong but avoided details on how to fix it.

But hey, he looked and sounded Presidential so lets vote for him! YAY!

I posted earlier the ways that Obama's administration has directly affected me for the better. I cannot think of any ways Romney will help me.

Me neither. Vote for Johnson...and fuck those Republicans and Democrats. They are all the same in the end.

I'd love to vote for a true independent... hell I'd even want to give Roseanne a shot just to see what she'd do... we've survived horrible terms before should she fail... but I live in a swing state and voting for a third party will do absolutely nothing except possibly get the guy I want least as President elected. When I was living in Maryland I could toss a third party vote... but with how close things were in Florida in the past, I have to be more careful.

I wish I could say the same.

who said they were going to vote for Romney based on tonight's performance? Who?

You're a typical liberal who thinks he's smarter than everybody else and knows what everybody else will do.

i'm a liberal pretty much and i saw Romney win a television 'debate' - nothing more, nothing less.

Whoops, looking back at the thread it was all of the left leaners that said he looked and acted Presidential... so..... hahah... I don't even know.

ROSEANNE BARR FOR PRESIDENT!

I really would love to see her as President. Since her show airs on re-runs 24/7 it seems... and I love it... it's usually on in the background... and the same stuff she stood up for 17 years ago she does today as well.

I feel like it's time to go really nuts and vote somebody nuts in.

Mutt 10-03-2012 08:21 PM

Obama let Romney deliver his message pretty much uncontested - should have called him on the bullshit, made him look disingenuous.

If you had listened closer when Obama said "he never has specifics" Romney replied with the comment that there are options, more than one way to do something. When did Obama ever give a specific on how he was going to do something?

Eliminating oil subsidies, private jet perks, etc. Plus all the things he's already done. Demonstrated experience.

SmutHammer 10-03-2012 08:33 PM

Romney said, to lighten the burden on small business taxes, That will create jobs! and that brings people paying taxes. Why is this so hard to understand?

As I said before if Romney wins, I will be opening at least two more businesses, If Obama wins I will not even consider opening anything new.
