I work primarily in adult, and pay my bills. It's not getting me rich, but hey. I don't consider myself a "failed webmaster," though I guess I could, since my biggest attempt at launching my own pay sites fizzled out.

I don't think that it failed because I'm not capable of doing it. I had three sites in the works, two actually launched for awhile. The one girl was a local amatuer, who started out non-nude, then went to showing tits. By the time she was confortable enough to go full nude and hardcore, people in her neighborhood caught wind of the site, and rumors spread that she was fucking guys for money, which wasn't true. So she bailed on the project.

The next was a site for a somewhat local established porn star. I had some good photo and video sets of her shot, but not a huge stockpile. She wanted her site to go live, I think just so she could say "I have my own site." She didn't care about all the behind the scenes stuff (like having enough content in the can to sustain the site), and bugged my wife and I to get her site launched. So we launched prematurely, and within a few months, started running low on content. I couldn't get her to commit to a schedule of camshows to save my life, and scheduling her to shoot content for the site was just as much of a nightmare. Once I ran out of new content, I stopped allowing new members (since there would be no updates). After about a month of no updates (during which I communicated with existing members), I decided I was never going to get this girl to shoot enough content for her site, and I yanked the whole thing offline. This was a few years ago, and it's fucking hilarious that this girl is now up for AVN awards, and has actually become known for her camshows, which I couldn't get her to do for her paying members. Ugh....

And the last one was also a local, established porn star, who had already been nominated for an AVN. We shot a bunch of content for a few days over a weekend (some g/g with the above mentioned porn star), and in the following weeks, when I was trying to schedule some more shoots, the girl decided she was leaving the adult biz. To this point, I've only seen new stuff from her coming from ALS, who she liked working with a lot, so I think they're the only ones she works with now.

All of these attempts were years ago. Since then, I've taken on work with a phone sex company doing web shit. I get paid a weekly salary, and it's adequate to pay my bills. I still long to return to shooting, but I'm taking it slow this time around. And my wife, who helped me with all of the above (she likes setting up the scenes/backgrounds and dressing the models for solo shoots), has since taken a job at the martial arts school my son attends. She's doing marketing and is the program director. She's on salary, and makes monthly commissions. I'm contributing to that by designing new t-shirts for the school, and I'm going to revamp their website and cover the online marketing.

But my main priority is my adult work, as I love the industry in general. I have yet to attend a show, so sadly, "GrapeSoda," I don't even really know who you are. Same goes for pretty much everyone on here...I know you mostly as GFY usernames, though I do have the utmost respect for many of you. I have chatted with some local GFY-ers. I tend to use this forum to joke, but I do read a lot and take in a lot.

Sorry to babble so long; I just wanted to put out there that I do agree with your post to an extent, but that I consider myself one of you.
