Anyone bought a new Google Chromebook?
Just curious what you think?
|
I do not understand these. Any basic laptop can offer the same features as a Chrome book and more. Any basic Tablet with a Bluetooth Keyboard can do the same and more. Why buy a netbook that is so limited when you can get more for less? I would think you would be far better with an asus or other netbook.

You mean new NSA spy device? no.

A tablet will do the job of this thing and take up less room, so what is the point of it? |
What differentiates the chrome notebook from other devices is the built in safety of every tab running in its own VMspace and if a VM does get infected the infection is quarantined in that VM and is gone on reboot. It is a true multi user system. Backup to the could by default. If you use Google apps alot this device will be the best computer to work with those apps.

I'm surprised that no one here has one yet.
I'd like one.... it looks neat. |
I am revisiting the idea of getting one...
Anyone have one? Do they suck dog ass? |
let me guess... it has linux + chromium preinstalled on it and that's the only difference :1orglaugh

I bought an acer c7. I needed a cheap laptop that wouldn't be a big deal if it was lost. I installed chrubuntu and upgraded to 12 gb of ram. It works fine for what I need it for. Chrome sucks balls though. I haven't booted into it since the day I bought it.

No way. That chrome book shit sucks. I'm waiting for Google Glass.
|
got a samsung chromebook back in February...for email and surfing it's fine. the camera has already broken, you can't do shit with it without an internet connection and when you sit down next to someone with a "real" machine, it just makes it seem even more useless....that being said, you get what you pay for..for 250$ if it lasts six to eight months i'll be happy.

I got one free from Google, but I don't think I would ever buy one.
They are NOT a replacement for a laptop unless you use the Internet for Facebook and gmail. You can't install any programs, everything is "app" only and must have the Internet on to use it, so there is no real "working offline" version. It's sort of like a tablet with a built in keyboard IMO |
