Why does the government get so many days "off"?
Such as Veterans Day.
Why exactly is this? |
Well for example congress and senate used to be paid dickola, so they needed to keep other jobs/biz, now they are paid like kings, have benefits matched no where else, and still keep 200 days off a year with no attendance required.
they are elite, and this is what the people want (in order to get their handouts they do at least) |
here in canada many stores are closed until noon for remembrance day

Veterans Day is when we celebrate and thank everyone who has ever served in the US Military. Memorial Day is similar, but Memorial Day is when we remember those who have died while serving our country.

Armistice Day (New Zealand, France, Belgium and Serbia) Independence Day, commemorates the anniversary of Poland's assumption of independent statehood in 1918 (Poland) Remembrance Day (United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Nations, including Australia and Canada) Veterans Day, called Armistice Day until 1954, when the holiday was rededicated to be in honor all American military, naval, and Air Force, veterans. (United States) America isn't the only country on Earth. |
Congress has zero days off.
They spend 30 days a year working and 335+ days per year fundraising/campaigning... Real campaign finance reform would fix that. |
Those who oppose gov't workers having Remembrance Day off work - aren't in a position to do anything about it.
So we moan, bitch and carp about it on GFY in an attempt to find catharsis...then go back to the servitude of our menial wage, private sector jobs - status quo. Meanwhile, the public sector continues to wonder why they're looked upon with such disdain and contempt by the private sector. |
