Convert WMV to FLASH HD Video

What software do you use to convert a WMV, MPG, AVI over to FLASH HIGH DEFINITION for WEB use ?

Not for tubes, but more for Paysites Tours or BLOGS.

I have been using Flash Moyea PRO, but wondering if there is anything better...

i'm sure something like Handbrake works - but you should not use WMV as source file if possible. since it's already heavily encoded your result will most probably look shitty.

use the source files from the camera - the mpgs and avis - if you have them in original quality

you're welcome :)

one more - unless you need the extra functionality Flash offers, you can also encode to MP4/H264 - which is video codec wise exactly the same.

If you need the videos for streaming, you have to make sure the encoding program sets the streaming flag correctly, otherwise MP4 will not stream.

i user Carbon Coder, but not everyone is willing to spend $6000 for an encoding program

but all MP4 videos in our shop are ready for streaming

I've had to convert several WMV's lately and honestly Handbrake is the only thing that did it and still had perfectly acceptable quality. I bought a few high priced converter apps and they all resulted in horrible outputs.

Yea, I bought a bunch of content and it's all WMV files. Converting it to a quality mp4 to stream has been nothing but a nightmare and slow process.

Attention to everyone selling content: Deliver your content in a real format please. WMV videos SUCK when we have to convert them to other formats.

I got a content once that was sent to me as wmv. I used premier pro (cs6). But I usually encode in h264/mp4 then use html5video to make a ogv and webm copy. mp4 will stream even on mobiles and ogv for firefox. I dont know where I need webm but just incase its there.

AVN Any video converter does pretty well and works in batch

Freemake Video Converter
Any Video Converter
both stable and easy to use...

Handbrake
just a bit more complicated but still quite easy...

This is one of the most useful video applications I've ever run across, Drop Folders.

http://ctl.du.edu/staff/josephlabrecque/DropFolders/

It's a batch processor for Handbrake CLI, I've run literally ten thousand videos through it over the past couple of years.

You set up a watch folder and an output folder, then create an argument using the Query Editor in the Handbrake GUI.

Once setup it's drag-and-drop :)
