Why is everything text now?
Selling some shit on craigslist, can't get this damn woman on the phone to save my life until she's outside the building. :1orglaugh Has to be text, no voice, for one excuse or another. That shit makes me paranoid.
I gave my number so we can speak, if I wanted to text I woulda gave my email. Everything went smooth, but what the fuck? :Oh crap |
Guess I'm the only one who still likes the voice feature of phones :Oh crap

You are not the only one Cyber. I'm like you, I prefer to hear someone on the other end of a phone conversation. Unfortunately people are becoming less interested in talking and prefer texting. It drives me crazy as well, along with those annoying automated phone systems when you call stores/companies which makes you punch 1 for 2 for 3 for BS. Whatever happened to someone answering your call when you call them :Oh crap

I don't like talking on the phone but I don't like going back and forth either. Sometimes a quick phone call is faster and more efficient than sending texts back and forth with your eyes glued to your phone for 10 min.

Texting gives me an excuse to pull over to the side of the road and grab a quick smoke. :thumbsup
I hate talking on phones - and I'm 48. I don't even answer my phone at home any longer. |

There is something to be said about talking on the phone though, you can't really 'hear' if someone sounds shady when doing deals via text, I'd much rather be able to detect if something doesn't 'sound' right from having a conversation with a person over the phone than rely on having to decipher text messages.
That being said, I do text a lot myself, even when dealing with clients, the trick is knowing when to pick up the phone and dial their number and when to stop texting. We get a lot of clients who will initially text us for 'basic' information on design or programming services, but there is only so much business that can be conducted via text, after a few message exchanges, you just have to speak with them. |

It's not that I won't talk on the phone, I just hate it. |
Love that iOS6 lets you not pick up calls and reply via text. Hate talking on the phone. Text FTW.

If signal is low text will work, voice not.. I get bad reception in my house for voice and texts work fine.. Sounds like the same.

I don't get that texting things.... I mean it's cool and great for short messages, for a quite note while in a meeting but I can't keep up with the amount of texting everybody does nowadays....
