People fail to understand kids and firearms. My parents were no different. I remember growing up as a kid in the basement and coming across a loaded .45, which seems to have been my father's before he died. Seems they forgot about it. My step father was into hunting, had a few hand guns, and a dozen high end shot guns - all unlocked as we were growing up.
Scary now when you think about it.
My firearms here in the house are secure. Kid doesn't know about them, kid could not physically get to them, and if she could they are still locked up.
