VB seems to be having some sort of breakdown - or he is pissed....

But ignoring that, he is right - What happens in US certainly does not stay in the US.

It has a massive influence on pretty much everyone. The US loves that role - You must see that?

Why are you surprised when others have an opinion about it?

we live in a global world dumbass. people comment on whatever they want from whatever country about whatever country. you can blame the media more than anything.

campimp 12-15-2012 11:19 AM

why does it bother you so much what others think about America?

perhaps if we started paying attention to how the rest of the world views us it would give us a better idea of what things we should try to improve upon.

it was not that long ago that the world looked to us as a great country, now not so much... maybe we could learn a little if we took a minute to try to understand why that is the case

Many of us have friends, family and loved ones living in the U.S.

As a Canuck living in a border town across the river from NY - we have many ties to our US brethren. What happens in America resonates in Canada. Our cultures have always had a symbiotic relationship throughout history.

whoops!!! I work 90 hours a week.. think I should stop working and start worrying about what the world thinks of the US? here's what I know about the US.. 90% of the country is small communities that care about family etc... then we have the cites that are all mouth, the media that is all distortion and our creepy mentally ill politicians... believe me when I tell you that 90% of Americans wish well to everyone, and that we would leave them all alone to sort their own issues out.

Forget about borders - Think about us as other humans - Of course we don't like it when we see a class room full of kids shot in cold blood.

As another human I am entitled to have an opinion.

while i agree with your point, very few places ever viewed the US as a great country, the only ones that did were the sort of places where having a roof was considered cutting edge, the US has never had a good standing in developed countries.

This is a very simplistic, narrow-minded example that doesn't correlate to the comments I made above.

This isn't about YOU.

This is about people in general.

You're right.

Next time some nutjob goes crazy with a gun in America and shoots 20 odd kids dead, we'll all just say "who gives a shit it's only America?".

Done!

From my experience, I believe you and that is true, but it doesn't change a fact that somehow, those 10% came thousand miles away, lied and faked almost everything and then invaded (directly or indirectly - depends how country they are attacking is rich and how much danger is there) and devastated country just for resisting and not accepting what they intended asked to be done. And those 10 moved on and did exactly same thing to millions of other people worldwide and just doing it while we are talking here.

MaDalton 12-15-2012 12:35 PM

free speech - isnt that an american value?

and yeah, as long you call yourself the greatest country in the world, others reserve the right to point out some flaws here and there

I agree and one of the things I hear is we are pampered here in the USA. on a worldwide basis 18 kids killed in a classroom is not even a news worthy event unfortunately... however when it happens here in the US it's a real big deal... when 18 kids are killed in a classroom in Asia, the Middle East or Africa... happens all the time, and worse, much worse.

I went to tech school with a guy from Malaysia... he told me when he was a kid his dad and the other dads in the village gathered up all the neighboring tribe, took them over the school, put them in rooms and killed everybody, while the guy I knew hid in the jungle and watched with the other kids...

talk to a Vietnamese woman sometime about the escape from Viet Nam after the commies took over... lot worse that 18 kids killed and that's a fact...

US gun laws impact canada a lot. the majority of guns used in crimes in canada are from the US.

Unwind so we can have multiple mass shootings a year like you guys? No thanks! I am quite happy living in a city where I don't feel the need to arm myself for protection. I know its hard for people like you to understand as you've been brought up with guns. Here we have not and I am thankful for it. I'm 34yrs old and have never seen a gun in my life with the exception of when I was in vegas.

interesting how you have degraded me to 'a person like you' feel superior now? all jokes aside, yes I was brought up with guns, war, and trouble and everything else Kids are brought up with... the thing is bad shit in not going away because we wish it would. for instance Islam is not going to leave the west alone if we would just be nice to them $.02

I apologize I did not mean it that way. I was trying to say you've grown up with guns so its part of who you are. Not trying to be superior at all.

What a drag it is
The shape i'm in
Well I go out somewhere
Then I come home again

I light a cigarette
'Cause I can't get no sleep
Theres nothing on the TV nothing on the radio
That means that much to me

All my life
Watching America
All my life
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
There's trouble in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh

Yesterday was easy
Happiness came and went
I got the movie script
But I don't know what it meant

I light a cigarette
'Cause I can't get no sleep
Theres nothing on the TV nothing on the radio
That means that much to me
Theres nothing on the TV nothing on the radio
That I can believe in

All my life
Watching America
All my life
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
There's trouble in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh

Yesterday was easy
Yes I got the news
When you get it straight, but stand up you just can't lose
Give you my confidence, all my faith in life

Dont stand me up
Don't let me down
I need you tonight
To hold me, say you'll be here
To hold me, say you'll be here
To hold me, say you'll be here
To hold..

All my life
Watching America
All my life
There's panic in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh
she's lost in America
Oh Oh Oh, Oh

Tell me how does it feel?
Tell me how does it feel?
Tell me how does it feel?
Tell me how does it feel?
