BFT3K 12-21-2012 09:14 AM

This press conference is truly bizarre.

bronco67 12-21-2012 09:16 AM

He just said gun free school zones are the reason this happened...WTF????

Someone shoot this turd in the face.

bronco67 12-21-2012 09:17 AM

Haha, that guy stood right in front of the podium with his giant red anti-NRA sign. Awesome.

MaDalton 12-21-2012 09:18 AM

if he was an actor, he would be nominated for the Razzie for that performance

I understand, normally I have the same philosophy, but thanks to him and people like him my kid has to grow up in a fucked up country with 175 million guns floating around just so these fucks can pad their bottom line. Makes me want to puke.

And now here they are spreading even more fear and promoting more guns.

PiffStenis 12-21-2012 09:30 AM

So he wants more guns in schools!

bronco67 12-21-2012 09:30 AM

Holy shit this guy is retarded.

bronco67 12-21-2012 09:33 AM

Wow the internet is amazing..this shit is on Youtube already.

I do agree on the armed security or a cop at every school thing. But he's a fucking swine for defending the NRA's right to try to squash every gun law.

baddog 12-21-2012 09:34 AM

There is a reason the NRA is not the powerhouse they used to be; based on your comments (haven't seen press conference) I'd say they are about to lose my wind in their sails.

"The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."
Fucking idiot.

MaDalton 12-21-2012 09:44 AM

so as i understood it, they will set up a program where anyone can apply to become an armed school guard...

which means: more people with guns in schools - which are not even government officials

right?

The thing that gets me is that trying to stop 'bad guys' getting guns and ammo is not even on the table.

Make it harder and fewer people will be killed - I do not know the stats but there is a percentage of opportunistic crimes and crimes of passion/anger that just would not have happened if the person had not had a gun handy.

Even if the US is not ready for a ban, make it as hard as possible for the wrong people to get them.

here is the dirty little secret gun freaks and the NRA dont want you to know: There are FAR more people killed in the act of defending themselves BECAUSE they had a gun - than successfully defend themselves.

It's more than 10 to 1.

They love the stories of people successfully defending themselves - mainly because it's SO rare.

It will be on the table where it should be. In Washington. And odds are good there will be some positive changes in the gun laws here. No one needs an assault weapon. The US has many restrictions on what civilians can own. Adding assault weapons and large magazines to that list should and will happen. The NRA just simply won't like it.

However, that doesn't change the fact there are 100's of millions of weapons out there now.

SuckOnThis 12-21-2012 10:11 AM

To all those that think this is only an American problem think again. It is the goal of the NRA to have every person on the planet have easy access to guns. Newt gingrich who lobbied for the NRA said he would submit to the U.N. a treaty making the right to carry a gun "a human right for every person on the planet."

You will need to back up that dirty little secret with some hard facts from a believable source. Because I don't believe that for one second.

gow much money do they donate to political parties (repubs) every year?

Doesn't everyone on earth with the exception of a few European countries already get an AK-47 when they turn 12?

Every cop will tell you, if you kill an intruder, make sure he's in the house. If no one complains about the gun shot, bury the body in the back yard, LOL
You sound like a person that knows absolutely zero about guns

L-Pink 12-21-2012 10:35 AM

People don't decide to commit murder just because a gun is easy to get. They decide to commit pre-mediated murder because they are criminals. The gun is just a tool for a job someone has already decided to do. Murder is already against the law by the way.

.

It's not on the table because there is too much money in gun lobby. This isn't about "rights" it's about big money cooperations making fuck loads of cash. Make it so the average citizen has to go through major hurdles to buy a gun and it cuts their profits, it's that simple. Gun Corporations control the NRA. It's like the tobacco industry, but that had irrefutable health data to prove it. Unfortunately anything related to gun deaths is disputable. Common sense has no place.

I had mine out during the LA riots after the armed guard of my apartment building got beat up and his revolver stolen from him.

The laws that get pushed thru take a long time, time enough for the manufacturers to make changes to their guns to keep from being banned. As far as ammo, most murders are with a .38 and they are easily reloaded in the garage. .22's are second. Way down the list are assault style weapons.

There is a huge difference between stabbing someone in the chest 30 times and squeezing a trigger. It takes real fucking determination to stab someone, poison them, strange them, etc. Any pussy with easy access to a gun can flip and become a "criminal" before they even know it.

Most people I know that have a lot of guns have had them for a long time. I have a rifle that's dated 1902. And that's the most accurate gun I have

Or lighting a fuse to a rented truck full of shit? Timothy McVeigh

Yeah a gun makes it easy, but if someone is determined, they will find a way

xholly 12-21-2012 10:47 AM

thats a lot of government spending

I'm sure authentic terrorist plots like that carried out by Timothy McVeigh take a lot more planning and determination than 95% of these mass shootings we hear about on a monthly basis. There is simply no comparison.

It has to do with the fact that you and your group want to ignore the fact that there are hundreds of millions of weapons in the hands of the people.

What is your plan for that?

How about this, I will make the offer to you and the rest of your gang in this thread to pay your plane tickets and lodging to come to the US and start collecting all those weapons that are already in the hands of the people. You will start on the south side of Chicago.

I'll even pay you $100 cash for every gun you collect.

since the NRA blames movies, games and porn instead of weapons - should we rather ban those?
