An Adult version of eBay?

There is currently about 500k listings on eBay right now in the Adult's only categories, and about 400K+ of actual sold listings still available to be viewed, dating from Feb thru now.

There are around 900k+ of completed listings still available to view of sold and unsold items.

Below are the categories and the current number of listings in each as of right now;

Books (5,720)
Clothing, Shoes & Accessories (5,414)
Collectibles (27,853)
Domain Names (20)
DVDs & Movies (236,749)
Erotic Art & Nudes (73,198)
Jewelry (276)
Magazine Back Issues (55,874)
Music (38)
Sex Accessories (3,304)
Sex Toys (24,425)
Video Games (435)
Other (2,069)

These categories, to my knowledge, are not accessible, available or even viewable to members outside the USA.

What do you GFY'ers think, is there a market for an adult version of this? Would a platform that provides wider global access make it more lucrative?

Does anyone here every sell or buy adult products on eBay, or elsewhere in a public format as such?

I've discussed this idea with several of my cohorts over the last couple of years, but we have not pursued in any major direction. I've got some background building niche auction sites and own one that is about 2 years old now that is finally starting to get a little momentum going so I have some familiarity with the dynamics involved. I've also been involved with ebay from a variety of angles since 1998.

Anyway, any thoughts you folks have here would be appreciated.

In the meantime...Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays & all that jazz :thumbsup

I have not seen that one, but I have found several out there like it. Like most I have found, there does not seem to have been much energy or effort put into the site from all kinds of angles.

Thanks for the link. :thumbsup

Been selling on ebay and ebanned since they started. Ebay use to be awesome with dvds and last time I checked I was doing about 8% of what I use to in sales five years ago.
Ebanned as someone said just never grows. It seems like the same bidders. I've listed new dvds that sold 30 copies and listed it again the next week to get 1 sold LOL.
I think next year I will stop selling on both, ebay fees are so high it is a joke, sell a dvd for 8 bucks and you owe ebay 98 cents and then a paypal fee on top of that.

Any idea how long ebanned has been around?

Also, there are several alternatives out there to PP now. Off the top of my head there is serve.com (amex) V.me (visa) skrill and ProPal.com. There are others that are moving into play as well, it will get interesting to watch as they start really competing.

Thanks for the input. :thumbsup

That eBay adult category section has been there for years. And i've purchased from that section before. all transactions and items are covered under eBay / Paypal buyer protection

So can people sell soiled undies of famous pornstars or celebrities in Ebanned?
