Porn Guardian's 2012 public list for most pirated files. Congrats to the winners!
Full list: http://www.pornguardian.com/publicstats.php
Despite their anti-piracy efforts and digital finger printing, Porn Hub valiantly fought its way through the masses, defying all odds, and secured the #3 spot on the tube list. :thumbsup Their excellence did not go unnoticed. Such a ranking got Porn Hub nominated for an AVN award for "Best Free Porn Site" while at the same time being the 3rd most infringing tube site on the entire internet. Well played guys, well played. Big congrats to Manwin for their ongoing success. If you guys apply yourself, work really hard, and get more uploaders, maybe next year you can be #1. AVN also deserves a mention for being true visionaries and realizing the future of the porn industry belongs to the sites with the most pirated content. You guys are always several steps ahead of your competition. And last, hats off and a pat on the back to Motherless for sweeping the top spot on this coveted list. Perhaps if you spend some ad dollars with them, next year you too can be nominated for an AVN award in the "Best Free Porn Site" category. |
I often wonder if the people working at avn are mentally challenged.

Gays are supposed to have more disposiable income blah blah blah, so this makes me wonder if it's a bunch of "straight" guys torrenting gay porn because they don't want to buy it. Quote:

Curious why gay porn is pirated so much more than straight porn, so do tell. I assume based on there being less gay men in the world than there are straight men that less gay porn would be watched unless it was also being watched by guys in the closet. Seems I'm wrong. Please chime in and drop some knowledge on us, sweetie. |
2013 will probably be just the same as 2012.
Until this industry actually takes a stand against piracy then these stats are just a damning indictment of an industry which fails to protect it's product. Only a handful of companies actually do something about piracy, this allows the pirates to play a game of risk where for every hundred pieces of content uploaded they might have to remove 10 or 20 due to a DMCA leaving 80 to 90 pieces of pirated content that will never be taken down. |
maybe it's that, combining the gay men and the straight men who watch gay porn, gay porn is the most popular category overall? If that's the case it would make sense it's disproportionately featured in the torrent pirates 'awards' list just based on the overall level of consumption
I'm curious too |

More attorneys need to pop up & help out instead of pulling a lightspeed. Maybe the way to go is sue like pink visual & settle out of court. Until services like ryc, takedown piracy & yourself make it easy to sue, it won't happen. It's not that we don't have the money to sue, it seems this is still new ground for lawyers & they rack up billable hours with no results. duke |

I'd am willing to work with anyone to sue piracy sites based on the evidence we gather, however I am not in favour of suing end users - attacking your constituency, even if it does pirate your product is a short term strategy that will only alienate other potential customers. The most successful strategies thus far have been to make running a piracy service or site a costly endeavour that is fraught with risk, this is the way I work with Stop File Lockers and also underpins the new campaigns I plan to embark on this year. |
