slapass 01-28-2013 08:12 PM

I bought some over a year ago. I just went in the green on them after basically being wiped out most of the summer.

HomegrownCash 01-28-2013 09:20 PM

Mr Pheer 01-28-2013 09:26 PM

I made bank with xxx-coins but I had a rack of machines and chat spammers to exploit it.

anexsia 01-28-2013 09:41 PM

I spend them on Silk Road as soon as I buy them

Mutt 01-28-2013 10:17 PM

well the people who bought bitcoins at 2 bucks are laughing now they're at 18. i've actually paid somebody in bitcoins and now i'm reading up and considering how risky investing is versus the potential huge payout if speculators push the value up and up.

Explain why you are laughing? Dont you realize that there's money to be made? Imagine if you bought Bitcoins when they were down at $0.7 last year, now they're at $19.

oscer 01-29-2013 02:10 PM

I used some Idle equipment back when they were worth $2 a coin and mined a bunch but other then that i would not buy them Not now

seeandsee 01-29-2013 02:17 PM

Over 19 now. They have jsut been going up every month now. I think silkroad is helping quite a bit.

Supz 01-29-2013 02:47 PM

Ide rather invest in joojoobees. Go buy gold. Bitcoins wont end good. My opinion.

SmutHammer 01-29-2013 02:49 PM

Are they used for anything other than pirate sites?

Coup 01-29-2013 03:08 PM

I'd rather invest it tulip bulbs

GARY LEE 01-30-2013 03:32 AM

I guess I'm just behind the times because I didn't even know that they were still around.

Imagine how much you can lose when the price crashes again. Its an amazing time to go all in. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity. Lol

I have been listening in on some very smart friends of mine, nerdy techie (yeah), who really believes Bitcoin is going to be the only stable currency in the future. They have some very valid points while talking about it, and I am a skeptic, but it sounds extremely interesting.

Mutt 01-30-2013 07:59 AM

well as far as Silk Road goes, criminal activities aren't going away and bitcoins could become the currency of the criminal underground. not sure how much protection/anonymity bitcoins give a criminal. at some point you have to convert them into cash.

slapass 02-10-2013 06:40 PM

Hitting 24.

BigChad 02-10-2013 07:47 PM

This concept is 20 years to late, with the internet and how seamless payment gateways works with your bank account that shit will never take off. It's like trying to market a linux box to the mass public instead of windows.. ain't happening.

tokmansta 02-10-2013 08:41 PM

How do the owners of silkroad convert their bitcoins to money?

Chosen 02-10-2013 09:59 PM

I don't :pimp

Internet Guy 02-10-2013 10:08 PM

Been buying steadily since a year ago.

Internet Guy 02-10-2013 10:11 PM

Trust in numbers ladies, it's the way of the future..

Imagine if you'd bought E-Gold when gold was a fraction of what it is now.

They don't (as a payment system, rather than a novelty gamble/investment). That's why people always want to convert them into something that does.

Only if your definition of 'box' is 20 years out of date. In 2013, Linux has vast market share in different kinds of computing/consumer products.

Except in the real world.

They use an exchange. I think Mt Gox is still the biggest.

Every once and a while there was a high profile hack of an exchange or a bitcoin bank that caused the price of the bitcoins to plummet. Haven't heard of one lately though.

This is just wrong and no I'm not explaining why, figure it out yourself.

slapass 02-19-2013 11:42 AM

9 days later and it just hit 29. Something is up.

mayabong 02-19-2013 01:03 PM

Only a matter of time before the adult industry catches on. The only downside is no way to get auto payments every month. I see camwithher.com just started accepting them yesterday. I'm very long term on bitcoins

Easiest way to buy them in the US is http://coinbase.com link your bank account and buy them. Decently funded startup.

Just the black market alone has trillions of dollars worth of money floating around.
