I bought some over a year ago. I just went in the green on them after basically being wiped out most of the summer.

They making a comeback? Saw them awhile ago just never thought they would go too far.

well the people who bought bitcoins at 2 bucks are laughing now they're at 18. i've actually paid somebody in bitcoins and now i'm reading up and considering how risky investing is versus the potential huge payout if speculators push the value up and up.

Explain why you are laughing? Dont you realize that there's money to be made? Imagine if you bought Bitcoins when they were down at $0.7 last year, now they're at $19.

I used some Idle equipment back when they were worth $2 a coin and mined a bunch but other then that i would not buy them Not now

Over 19 now. They have jsut been going up every month now. I think silkroad is helping quite a bit.

Ide rather invest in joojoobees. Go buy gold. Bitcoins wont end good. My opinion.

I have been listening in on some very smart friends of mine, nerdy techie (yeah), who really believes Bitcoin is going to be the only stable currency in the future. They have some very valid points while talking about it, and I am a skeptic, but it sounds extremely interesting.

well as far as Silk Road goes, criminal activities aren't going away and bitcoins could become the currency of the criminal underground. not sure how much protection/anonymity bitcoins give a criminal. at some point you have to convert them into cash.

This concept is 20 years to late, with the internet and how seamless payment gateways works with your bank account that shit will never take off. It's like trying to market a linux box to the mass public instead of windows.. ain't happening.

Every once and a while there was a high profile hack of an exchange or a bitcoin bank that caused the price of the bitcoins to plummet. Haven't heard of one lately though.

Easiest way to buy them in the US is http://coinbase.com link your bank account and buy them. Decently funded startup.

Just the black market alone has trillions of dollars worth of money floating around.
