It is a lot harder in the states. You will get tons of looks. Add in the part that she has not grown up yet so you have to go through that part as well. Also she will want kids.
The good side is at 19, she has tons of time. If you chew up five years of her life she still has time to find a babymeker etc.

My dad (48 or 49 now) picked up a 19 year old girl and has been with her for like 6-7 years now.

It's doomed to fail - she will eventually want kids and stuff and he's definately against that, but it will last at least until she realizes that she will never get (in the long term) what she wants with him.

It sounds like if the girl is comfortable and the guy can provide what she needs it can work long term?

Biggest problem will be getting the lid closed on the coffin when she kills him :)

I am 35, my girlfriend is 23. she was 18 when we met. Biggest problem with our age difference was how people acted about it. Now that she is a little older, no one really has much to say anymore.

What is the downside? He gets to bang a 19 year old. If it doesn't work out he can run out and chase middle women whenever he wants. If it does work out he ends up banging one middle aged woman.
She is 19. She hasn't grown up yet so almost everything he likes about her now will change in the next 5 years. She has no goals or ambitions that include making him do anything. That changes. She is cute hopefully, and that is most likely to change. No downside but making it long term???

I think there is a "rule" that states; divide your age by 2 and add 7, that will give you the "acceptable" age for your younger partner...

I have found that women go through profound differences in their world view and personalities between the ages of about 22 and 28. In a few rare instances, those changes correspond with the way the man is changing, but in most instances they diverge, and that's when the trouble starts. Every guy that I know that was over 35 and had a relationship with a girl under 23 always ended up divorced by the time she was 33 or so.

I just make it. But not a bad rule as it gets creepy if the gap is too big. Even Hugh or Donald has to feel out of place at the girlfriends birthday party or class reunion.

A nineteen year old chick and a middle aged man would have little in common and not much to talk about. I remember working with models when I was in Phoenix; They were worried about paying a $75 speeding ticket and I was worried about making my $2300 mortgage.

I'm good friends with a chick who just turned twenty-one this weekend. The only reason I am friends with her is because she is a bit mature for her age; She's friends with my wife who is nearly twice her age.

It really depends on the girls upbringing. I'm always told she is more grown up than me.

Oh, and Getting married is for old people, Not to many people believe in doing that anymore. That is why the divorce rate in America has dropped so low.

19 is too young. When I got together with my wife she was 21 and I was 41. I am now 47 and we are still together. Married for 3 1/2 yrs now and have a son together. But it really all depends on the girl. We have had some issues, but nothing we couldnt resolve but for sure there were many times where she did young girl annoying things and she sometimes gets frustrated because I am set in my ways.

She grew up in the midwest and likes being a stay at home Mom.

A few years ago I went out with a 20yo girl, the biggest problem is what you find fun she finds retarded and vice versa; her idea of fun was going to a hole in the ground aka super awesome night club, where the music was so loud that you can't hear yourself think and the cigarette smoke was so dense that you can't see more than 30cm from your nose ..... which again is what I used to like when I was her age. Of course, if you want to make ir work, you can, it alwasy comes down to how much effort you both want to put in.

Well this girl is almost 20, very mature and very smart. I would of guessed 25 at least. So probably the same. She also says in her culture they always date older guys. But the truth is we really connected which makes me question myself lol.

I'm going to have settle on that, if we decide to make it work it can. I guess I will have to tell her my age at some point and see how that goes too lol.

For the record I am exactly twice her age minus one year. Sounds creepy!

It's been my experience that after the sex you have nothing in common to really talk about and that's O.K. if you are a man like me. If both parties are honest from the beginning what they are in the relationship for then it can work. I always worried what's in it for them. Are interested in the money that I don't have. LOL. I am in decent shape for a middle aged man that can honesty pass for 20 years younger with a shaved head and a clean face. These days when the look I pretend I don't notice.
