css... why?

ok now i admit because the cops stole my computers for 2 years i have been out of the adult industry for a while, but WHY css? is it just so nerds can have one up on the rest of us? i don't see signifigant benefits from it... all i see is some new bullshit to learn i should not need to learn.

seriously.. oh wow formatting is slightly better? give a fucking shit? unless i have a website with a million pages who cares? am i missing something? thoughts please...?

What's wrong with CSS?

Sexnb 02-13-2013 12:58 PM

Are you sure they stole it for only two years?

Zeiss 02-13-2013 01:02 PM

Yea.. css' been around for the last 16-17 years or so...

Consistency and ease of use. Rather than hardcoding EVERY page (especially those that look alike) with HTML, you make ONE CSS sheet and have every page call it and insert the information as needed. It also makes modifying the site easier; if you decide to reformat something, you change things ONCE in CSS and every page changes.

Imagine is a site like Amazon decided to change their sales page for a book. Millions of books. With CSS, they change one element and every page changes. As opposed to....

Yea and if you have caching, you just specify lastmodified or change the css file name... or else users won't see the changes before the cache expires...

yes just two years, then a year of me not doing shit because i was annoyed as hell at them for ruining most of my sites (they gave them back, no charges of course, love the fucking totalitarian state i fucking live in), so really 3 years of me out of it... but nevermind, yeah point being last time i worked hard in the industry was a few years ago and at that point css was not always used. now it is. and i dont know it.

i suppose i was drunk and annoyed last night when i wanted to just change a gif on one site, and i could not do it because i dont know css, despite the fact i know html well...

Jaeger 02-13-2013 04:18 PM

also thing is in adult at least ive only ever done topsites or tgps...

thats one page. or two. not many pages, no need for css...

Zeiss 02-13-2013 04:19 PM

both use css

fonsolo 02-13-2013 07:42 PM

Seriously? CSS is pretty simple as far a programming languages go. It's almost all written in English and pretty intuitive to use. If you're creating a site and you don't want it to look like web 1.0 , it would definitely be a good investment of your time to learn it.

AllAboutCams 02-13-2013 07:49 PM

Your in Aus and they took your pc for 3 years what site did you run?

2 years but yeah, they just said i might be making bombs and took my stuff (bullshit they just knew i had teen sites, which were legal btw, as they found out eventually after sitting on them for ages and ages before even properly looking)

they can seize all your stuff if they claim you might be making bombs.... the cop in this case abused that and lied to get a look at my computers.

not a very free country is it? Remember this is a country that censors the internet, the only western country i can think of to do so.
