Brick & Mortar small town biz's
If you were to start a small town brick & mortar type business in the New England area, what would you do?
I'm in a tri-state area and have easy access to MA, CT & RI. Providence is 30-45 mins away.. Boston is a bit over an hour and I can be in any of the 3 states with-in 10-15 mins. Despite this the area is very rural and lots of small towns scattered all around. I'm looking for something different to do and I'm looking to start some sort of local business, but I'm kinda out of ideas. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? |
I would take a skill set that you already have and find a way to apply it. Much easier to run a business doing something you already know, then starting from scratch and learning everything.

we just started another biz that is making a killing. Low start up cost also. If there is nobody selling right next to you I cannot see why it would not do well there also. I am in a small town myself. If you can open a small biz and just need someone to run a cash machine to collect the money your good LOL
All I want in return is to collect a payoneer payment. I have paypal or I guess a bank wire. I sold another license and trying to take the payment. |

When I was in high school and a few years afterwards I owned a decent sized lawn/landscaping biz then later moved into commercial floor cleaning. I've also had a dealer's license and sold used cars. Out side this most things I've done were via the internet, which sort of let me become far too lazy. I do have some experience with operating various heavy equipment and I've always been able to repair things. Non of this stuff really interests me to be honest, I want to do something different. |

Not trying to be harsh, but a good business is something burning in your gut that you have to accomplish, not a suggestion from an internet message board because you can't think of anything.

I'm just looking for ideas, that I haven't thought of. When I started my lawn/landscape biz it wasn't a gut feeling it was hey I need some money and I have a lawn mower. When I started my floor cleaning biz it was by pure chance. I met a guy that needed someone to do the floor cleaning for a chain of stores. With-in a week I had bought a propane floor buffer and had the contract and knew enough to get me by and figured out the rest as I went on. Selling porn on the internet happened by chance after clicking a webmaster link and realizing I could make money online. I barely knew anything about building websites at the time. Nothing was gut feeling it was due to a need or pure chance. |
