Yeah its a dumb law needing a permit to sell shit, although I kind of understand in some situations where consumables are being sold, but still, I remember seeing neighborhood kids with lemonade stands on the street in summertime... Its been a long time since I saw that.

There was a story a year or two back where some kids got citations for selling lemonade for like $1 a glass for charity because they didn't have a permit... Stupidity knows no bounds.

This type of permit is not unusual across towns in America. It's a way for the municipalities to make $. You want to sell porn VHS tapes door to door? Go to their administrative building, town hall, whatever and pay for a solicitation permit (yeah solicitation). It's to deter scammers from coercing people who live in those towns to give cash to fake charities and shit like that. These permits have been around for years, nothing new. There are exceptions, usually, Girls Scouts don't need permits to sell their cookies :winkwink:
