Don't you just hate "shave days"?

These are the days where for some reason your dating sponsor evidently decides they are going to stop counting 30% of your traffic for no reason. Every other metric is up but the dating sponsor's stats for that day. Yeah like we don't notice that our traffic is up yet counts are down for the day. Why do you have to be a thief? :helpme

I don't believe in shaving... at least not in the popularity that everyone wants to make it out to be.

Hit me up, if you're interested in the best dating sponsor out there that doesn't shave your earnings.

i dont get it,

why sponsors shave ?

i know obviously for money but .

if someone finds out and someone will find out, it will be all over boards and biz will be dead for that sponsor, no one will promote them.

else dont shave and pay on time + create special promos with higher %% and affiliates will promote you, biz will be good.

I shave once a week. Once every two if I'm lucky. I hate shaving.

Most sponsors have no need to shave and wouldn't be in there best interest to do so, that being sad, many have made the mistake of doing soo in the past none the less.

that's what has been confusing me on this issue for years.. It's in the programs best interest to have things convert for their webmasters clearly. So interfering with that is pure desperation and would be discovered within a day. I have found that it has more to do with a lot webmasters being bad with math and probabilities for the most part. When things like bills need to be paid emotion takes over logic unfortunately.

Sales are like hits in baseball. If a batter hits .350 for 50 at bats that doesnt' mean he'll hit that for the rest of the season or years down the road.

What made it even stupiditor is the fact that back in the day you would have to be a idiot to be huge and not making hand over fist.

if you send to a decent program that isn't happening. THere are all kinds of reasons for changes in conversion and traffic levels. If you think you are being shaved you should pull out a credit card and run some tests. The program will refund the charges if you ask them and tell them you were testing. Complaining here isn't really going to help you.

It doesn't work like that. There is always an excuse.

If not this then maybe it was delayed. Or maybe there was already a cookie from before. Or "it was just a temporary glitch and no significant sales were lost"

We all know it happens a lot. It doesn't come up here much because it's difficult to prove and if you fail to prove it you are banned.

Personally I think it's fraud and if a U.S. party is involved in it -even as a rep who knows it is occurring and especially if they facilitate it - then I believe there is a case for criminal charges and jail time. It's basically fraud across state lines (or internationally across borders). It's a shame that it's a long shot that justice will ever be served. It's no different than check fraud or obtaining goods with counterfeit money or credit cards. Instead of goods it's traffic being obtained under false pretenses through fraud.

Yet there are documented cases and most of these cases only came known because someone on the inside blew the whistle or the admin was hacked. You can also find reps on the record admitting that shaving occurs in the industry. You can find posts from veteran programmers in our industry admitting that one of the most popular things they are asked for is a way to shave.

It's greed plain and simple. There are a million rationalizations for it from "the affiliate doesn't deserve this much anyway" to "everybody shaves. You have to in order to compete".

There are good people in our industry but there are many more total scumbags as well as those somewhere in between. All I ask for is a fair deal. I don't steal from you. I don't card. I don't lie to surfers about what is inside. I don't tell people to join the trial and then cancel. I ask for what is mine. I demand it.

Preach on.
