Russian Navy warships dock in southern Iran

"A group of Russian Navy warships has docked at the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas after a long journey from the Pacific Ocean.

The fleet, comprised of Admiral Panteleyev anti-submarine destroyer and the logistic battleships Peresvet and Admiral Novelskoy with a crew of 712, docked at the Iranian port on Sunday.

The Admiral Panteleyev is an Udaloy-class destroyer (large anti-submarine ship) of the Russian Navy which was deployed in 2009 as part of operations to combat piracy off the Somalian coast.

The Russian warship entered the Iranian naval zone with the purpose of strengthening relations between Tehran and Moscow and promoting bilateral naval cooperation to maintain maritime security.

Commanders of the Russian fleet are expected to hold talks with top Iranian naval officials. "

So a Russian ship docked in another country. And?

I wonder how many US ships have docked in Russian ports.

bronco67 04-22-2013 05:16 PM

This tells us all we need to know about Russia.

In the wider context:-

Russia warns Israel, West against attack on Iran

and keep in mind that the war on Syria is the start of the war against Iran, as the two countries are neighbors and are allied.

Step toward possible military intervention in Syria
The Pentagon is sending about 200 troops to Jordan to help deliver aid to refugees and to plan for possible military action, including a rapid buildup of forces.

So very quickly this can escalate into a full-scale proxy war between USA and Russia :2 cents:

That's a shoddy paint job for the numbers. The US military would never allow that.

US boats can strike coral reefs and still stay afloat. Us boats can have giant holes blown in the side and still stay afloat.. Meanwhile Russians manage to find ways to sink their own subs.

If they can sink a boat that is already underwater.. well.. :error

Been there done that. Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan.... Whatever.

I really think the US should stay out of Syria.
