For those of you that love Skype?

Why on earth do I get messages 10 hours later? I just got a message from 11:30 PM last night.

I'm even using the paid service. Annoying.

Manfap 05-20-2013 11:22 AM

If the other person isnīt logged in maybe? that happens on the free, can be really annoying.

wizzart 05-20-2013 11:23 AM

Must be that paid service because free working just fine :)

Sly 05-20-2013 11:24 AM

I signed off. They did not, they never do. They sent me a message immediately after I signed off. I just got it. I have been signed on for six hours.

Pisses me off big time...

NaughtyRob 05-20-2013 11:29 AM

Never heard of that happening.

helterskelter808 05-20-2013 12:15 PM

Who the fuck loves Skype? It's shit.

Supz 05-20-2013 12:26 PM

Skype sucks.

Danny Deepwood 05-20-2013 04:31 PM

Skype has done it to me too! Irritating:mad:

shake 05-20-2013 04:36 PM

I've had that happen when I have Skype logged into more than 1 computer at the same time, even on my iPhone. One possible reason for you.

harvey 05-20-2013 05:09 PM

you can't have enough hate for Skype until you try it in Windows 8. That's the time when you promise a long agony to Niklas Zennström and Bill Gates

PornDude 05-20-2013 05:33 PM

1. Person sends message while you are offline
2. Then he goes offline
3. You come online
4. Few hours later he comes online and you gets his message that was sent while you were offline

blackmonsters 05-20-2013 06:00 PM

That didn't happen to me yet, but that would suck.

purecane 05-20-2013 06:47 PM

They need to hurry up and make Skype for chromeOS......

DaniLuv 05-20-2013 07:25 PM

damn!!!!!

DaniLuv 05-20-2013 07:26 PM

Hate that

facialfreak 05-21-2013 12:12 AM

People need to remember that Skype is true PEER-TO-PEER software ... meaning they do not store messages on intermediary servers that can get easily hacked ...

Skype relies on BOTH parties being online for the messages to be sent in real time.
It is not rocket science .... but what it is, is TEN TIMES more secure than ICQ, Yahoo, or MSN ever were!!!

Klen 05-21-2013 12:43 AM

That's why i am still on icq ,i was responding to message thinking how it was just sent yet it was sent before day or two which made it completely non needed to respond to it.

Who care about security? It's not like i going to send internet banking details over icq lol.

Usually. But I noticed strange things happening when receiving end is on skype via iphone.
Then I send message and it shows as sent but moment after that it shows that receiving end went offline. Its not that it actually happened - like he went offline 0.5 second after I sent a message. He was offline before I sent the message, but somehow instead of showing message not sent as usual it shows message sent (and then receiver immediately went offline).

That's nice, but we were both online, no message.

Skype has a few things I like about it, but in general, I like ICQ better. The history is better, the search is better, the messaging is better.

I think if they are mobile it sometimes sends messages funny....

Annoys me when it doesnt but the messages in the right order because of weird time zone conflicitons

adult-help 05-21-2013 06:54 AM

i hate it that both people have to be online for message to be delivered. what a crap, they cant store the messages on their servers? yahoo had offline messages for ages..

J. Falcon 05-21-2013 06:58 AM

I get the same shit with the free version.

blackmonsters 05-21-2013 07:08 AM

Well in the mean time, just turn it on and leave it on.

:1orglaugh

just a punk 05-21-2013 07:09 AM

No offline messagin' in Skype.

pornguy 05-21-2013 07:15 AM

we get that all the time. I hear its worse in the newer versions of the system. They also removed the screen share I hear.

Ross 05-21-2013 07:24 AM

I love Skype but that irritates me to no end that people send messages and if we don't happen to be online at the same time for a few days, it looks like I'm ignoring them. Not good when you strive to offer good client relations/service.

Hmm that would make sense. This has been happening to me quite a bit lately and it's more than frustrating.

alex.missyouth 05-21-2013 08:20 AM

I also get the same shit, skype sucks unless you use it exclusively for video calls.
