Sex.com external links broken?..

Hey. Is it just me, or do the image links from sex.com no longer work? It pops up the ad and link, but nothing happens...

Do you really want to leave Sex.com?

This content was pinned from: [the url]

Click Go to Site to see the original site, or Cancel to close this dialog and go back to Sex.com
And then when you click the "Go to site" button, nothing happens. :(

Yep. That's what I'm seeing and my referral traffic from them dropped big :(

Interesting. When I read this thread I decided to give the site a look and found just within the first few minutes, two photos owned by other people having their watermarked removed and posted on the sex.com site and linking to other sites as (posted by some fake owner - click here to go to that site).

Hmmm. We give pornhub such shit for its illegal activities but maybe it's time to give sex.com a more serious look.

Odds are sex.com isn't posting the pics.

where as pornhub paid people to post the videos.

How much traffic do you get from sex.com ? I haven't had any luck with them, especially after this "go to site" thing...

Just following this up. I think they were testing the interstitial pop-up advertisement when this thread got started, and the click through links were broken. They seem to be working now, but of course the interstitial is still a substantial "speed bump" for traffic that has to choose between a small text link above a huge irrelevant ad or a small button below it.

Of course if you look at the "from {url}" link that triggers the interstitial popup in the first place, it has a rel="nofollow" on it. I don't know -- that might have been true all along, I never looked before. But whenever it went nofollow, it is now, so if you're posting on Sex.com you're only doing it for the tiny trickle of traffic that makes it past the interstitial speed bumps.

Good point, but I noticed the rel=nofollow before the interstitial popup as well as the links working on them. Either way, though, hopefully it was just a temporary error.

Be sure to watermark your images :winkwink:
