Dankasaur 06-12-2013 01:27 PM

So you're mad that people are pushing your threads to the next page by selling their domains which you don't think are worth it?

Nope, he does not like that people flood the forum, and every member prefers clean forum over flooded one. User experience.

Klen 06-12-2013 01:59 PM

Only way to fix it it's to make sub sections in buy/sell section, like domains/traffic/hardlinks/misc/etc...

Yngwie 06-12-2013 02:11 PM

I have a super premium domain for sale.. asking in the high xxx, xxx.

The domain is SuperPremiumDomain.com ;)

How would that fix it? Same people would still be able to post in the exact same manner.

Limit of threads per person would solve this, or simply some decent rules and banning for breaking them.

Well it might not fix it but it would help reduce it as excessive posting in one sub section say for content would not affect posts in another say for domains. It is also a good idea in general as some people have no interest in some of the stuff for sale so they have to wade through all the irrelevant stuff just to find the few posts about stuff they are interested in buying. Of course some decent rules and banning would be nice as well.

Fat Panda 06-12-2013 07:03 PM

i agree its time for sub-forums

content
domains
traffic/seo/blog posts/links/etc

arock10 06-12-2013 07:33 PM

Yes definitely sub forums for buy sell. And have them moderated at least slightly

MrDeiz 06-12-2013 10:32 PM

there's no need in sub-forums, it will only make things worse
some moderator is required for that section to get rid of some ridiculous hamsters

but no one is in charge at this place

Markul 06-12-2013 10:45 PM

Same shit different day.

Well depend on what kind of goods you looking for, there is still chance how on of those sub sections would be flooded as well but some never would be flooded, like site selling.
Also one tip for people who post there:instead having a millions of threads, just make one and call it "nickname market"and put link into your sig.

Yes there is,but even then moderator might be needed, but fact is that wont happen as it would probably require full time.

Antonio 06-13-2013 12:44 AM

and how is that fixed in the other forums .... wait for it ..... the buy / sell sections are PAID

and there you have it, a small fee would weed out the spammers

MrDeiz 06-13-2013 12:53 AM

yeah. that shit has been done to DigitalPlayground - nobody is posting his shit there now
serious sellers are selling their stuff one time, they won't be paying a thing for it. me as a buyer is interested in those guys with real deal, not those junk domain, content, linkfarm seller occupying the place now.

but hey, why moderators aren't even joining this thread?

Playground ?You mean point ?And the reason why they are'nt joining this thread -it involves work, and i am sure how that is something what they try to avoid :)

How could it possibly make things worse? Most people who post excessively for say content are not going to post in a domain forum as they know no one is looking for content in there. If they do they may be subject to mod action or if no mods bother to monitor it then at least their reputation among the readers of that forum, who may one day want to buy content, would be decreased.

Excessive posting aside, sub forums are also better in cases when a single forum is overrun with posts for multiple categories as it is now. If you posted something today that is not offered very often it would get cycled off the first page before the end of the day, if it had been posted in a forum for related products that are not posted very often, it might stay on the front page of that forum for weeks - good for buyers and sellers.

PornDiscounts-V 06-14-2013 12:30 AM

Would be nice to have a rule that makes it so if you are going to post a domain sale you need to post all of the domains in there and you can only post a domain for sale once every three days. Unless you are using HuntingMoon and it is a real domain worth real money.

What seems to weed them out on other forums I am in is having strong moderation. And dividing them up between sub-categories.

mineistaken 06-14-2013 04:46 AM

Simple - rule of 1-2 post (either new thread or bump post) per day in that forum could help.

I am going to keep this simple.

If you are selling something you can post a thread about it.

1) If you are selling multiple items (Domains, Content sets, Blog Posts, Hardlinks, etc) all items should be placed in one thread. Multiple threads from the same user or the same company will result in the removal of all threads

2) You may bump ONE of your own threads per month. Excessive bumps will result in ALL threads being removed.

3) One thread per week per company or user. You have a bunch of things to sell, make one post about it, or wait till next week to sell your next item.

4) One thread per month per company or user for similar items. You may make one thread per month selling domains, content sets, blog posts, hardlinks, etc. Violation of this rule will result in the removal of all threads.

5) All other GFY rules must be followed in this section as well.

If you have any questions about the rules, ask them in this thread.
