What editors are people using these days?

When I've scratch built in the past it's just been notepad and Photoshop. I used to use WYSIWYG editors but each one had their own individual "quirks" that I'd have to work out, so it became easier to just learn to do it all manually. How much HTML and CSS I've actually retained while learning is a bit iffy though, lol.

Photoshop. Dreamweaver, BBEdit and Final Cut.

Thanks guys, yeah, Dream Weaver crashes all the time on, even on my other computers and this one with different versions .

We have used Komodo Edit for years (www.activestate.com), it is the free version of Active State's code editor. It's the best thing that I have seen since Cool Edit Pro back in the day. For images - Photoshop or GIMP depending on what platform I'm on. When I am feeling especially hardcore, I use VI on my Linux boxes.

Photoshop CS6, however i'm currently testing Photoshop CC that was out a couple days ago, main editor Sublime Text 3 (very fast), Mac Vim, TextWrangler and Brackets by Adobe.

I have been using MS Expression Web 4, with The Gimp (similar to photoshop but less powerfull, but free), and for animated gifs I use Gif Optimizer to compressed them, it's pretty sweet.

Lately though, I have been using the wordpress app on my hosting site, it's pretty good for my the new version of my HD site.

Notepad++ is pretty much all skilled people need.

adult-help 06-22-2013 07:27 PM

sublime text 2. it is fantastic. Try it. Before that I used netbeans but for web development that was too slow and big.. I also used pspad long time ago but sublime text 2 is so much better.

Still Photoshop and Dreamweaver.

I always tend to forget all the codes.

johnny_d 06-23-2013 01:53 AM

Notepad++ is good.

Best-In-BC 06-25-2013 08:43 AM

heh, I was to hope to see something new and better than what I'm using but all I see is the same or worse (Dreamweaver) :D .

For hand-coding, Textpad is amazing! It color codes everything for you so you can see where you forgot to close a tag :)
