Blogger to stop porn

I was just sent this:

Important Update to Adult Content Policy on Blogger

You are receiving this message because you are the admin of a blog hosted on Blogger which is identified to have Adult content.

Please be advised that on June 30th 2013, we will be updating our Content Policy to strictly prohibit the monetization of Adult content on Blogger. After June 30th 2013, we will be enforcing this policy and will remove blogs which are adult in nature and are displaying advertisements to adult websites.

If your adult blog currently has advertisements which are adult in nature, you should remove them as soon as possible as to avoid any potential Terms of Service violation and/or content removals.

Sincerely,

The Blogger Team

ps....they aren't stopping porn...just the ads on hosted blogs.

arock10 06-26-2013 04:02 PM

sweet so porn is ok, but it has to be illegal

JosephFM 06-26-2013 04:10 PM

Just like tumblr. You can still have porn on your blog, but god forbid you try to make money from it.

Give all your porns to the google and the tumblr but don't expect to make money from it because making money is evil.

Colmike9 06-26-2013 04:16 PM

What if I make a porn Blogger blog, have no ads, but put in a mobile redirect?

Are they talking about removing Adsense from adult blogs (Because they just deactivate my ads, happens all the time..) or all ads? And does linking a picture to another blog/FHG/tour count as monetization?

Fat Panda 06-26-2013 04:19 PM

Blame all the freeloading parasites filling blogger with worthless plugrush spam

Adult Content: We do allow adult content on Blogger, including images or videos that contain nudity or sexual activity. But, please mark your blog as 'adult' in your Blogger settings. Otherwise, we may put it behind a 'mature content' interstitial.

There are some exceptions to our adult content policy:

Do not use Blogger as a way to make money on adult content. For example, don't create blogs where a significant percentage of the content is ads or links to commercial porn sites.
No incest or bestiality content: We do not allow image, video or text content that depicts or encourages incest or bestiality.

Maybe Twan's behind it.. :winkwink:

rayadp05 06-26-2013 05:57 PM

Fucking lame. No worries though. There are plenty of other blog sites out there that will accept adult related content on them.

EddyTheDog 06-26-2013 06:24 PM

Just make the links to another site you own instead - They are not going to stop you from having ANY links...

I just noticed DVTimes - When did you get back on?....

Well, there are some methods to don't make it obvious. I mean, try to avoid spamming affiliate links and you will be fine. Use your blogger blogs as feeder sites to your money site. And if you use softcore content, then the changes of being deleted is almost zero. Oh, and don't put all your eggs in the same basket, try to have many blogs, not just one in blogger. :2 cents:

Depending on the language you select here:

http://www.blogger.com/content.g

It says that they DO allow adult content.. OR that they DO NOT allow adult content.

It's truly funny. :)

Try different languages and check for your own...

Nice tips, I'll try that out.

And definitely don't have all of your eggs in one basket. I have a lot of Blogger accts so far because of the f-ing 100 blog limit, but most are mainstream with a handful of adult here and there. I do like my blogs like http://emo-porn.blogspot.com/ so I hope that's still ok...

I know, they've always confused me with that. :Oh crap

MikesCandy.com redirects to a google warning page

No redirect here. It opens fine.

Zeiss 06-26-2013 08:39 PM

Blogger isn't good for that. Their warning pages kill me. Tumblr is better, i think.

Besides the risk, I completely understand why you use blogger, just try to don't make it that obvious (I mean the porn/affiliate stuff). Otherwise you will give them a lot of reasons to remove you.

oppoten 06-26-2013 08:51 PM

So as with Tumblr, they don't have a problem with porn, just with making money off porn. An almost exact replica of Tumblr's policy, despite them being entirely separate companies.

So why is social media not against porn, but against the monetization of porn? I personally think it's because porn is a soft target, to test out policies that could eventually spread to mainstream. Will Google ultimately have terms that say "we're sorry, but any advertising other than Adsense contravenes our new terms. If you have product reviews, then you must remove them ASAP. And if you are not "approved", then you must remove Adsense also, and you will not be allowed to sell anything on your website".

I have a theory, but you'd all shout me down if I voiced it. I just hope that Snowden dares to use the J word.

I think it has to do with keeping the "amateur" touch of it...

I kind of agree...but why is it so important that Gentiles..er, I mean amateurs, share as opposed to sell?

I think communism yields the answer. Lenin said that he felt other forces were in control.

AdultKing 06-26-2013 09:37 PM

Just a tip to those relying on the future of Google based or Yahoo/Tumblr based blogs for adult content.

Don't.

lucas131 06-27-2013 04:25 AM

to all the people laughing at people using blogger for adult blogs ... there is no other public place where you put anything and it is visible in google top spots in less than 24 hours! dont know now, but back in the past it made me nice sales, so now laugh but you are the one who missed the train :) lol :winkwink:

You're absolutely right, blogger blogs were very effective and still are for many people however it's my understanding that the policies relating to adult content on some high profile properties are under active review and may result in changes many people don't like.

Like anything in life, enjoy the opportunity while it's there - it's fortunate while it is - but don't leave all your eggs in one basket.

Fat Panda 06-27-2013 04:59 AM

Thumblogger, Tumblr and now Google Blogger...castrating freeloading parasites one step at a time.

I love it! Thank you Google !!!! :thumbsup

Bad news for the affiliates on Blogger.

DamianJ 06-27-2013 06:46 AM

Oh thank god he's been unbanned. Maybe he'll stop posting on Xbiz now.

It's annoying, beyond annoying. Useless, time wasting spam.

pornguy 06-27-2013 07:39 AM

I have sent them at least 50 DMCA's for sites with stolen content they host. Those sites done have banners think they will terminate them all?

hell ya start reporting ANY blogger sites with affiliate links!

especially ones with ranking serps

Pronstar 06-27-2013 09:38 AM

Blogger has been banning porn now and then for years now. Nothing new... just need to be careful with aff links.

2intense 06-27-2013 10:00 AM

i don't give a fuck ,this is good = lower spam on blogger and we will not see anymore shitty blogger pages ranked on goAgle

signupdamnit 06-27-2013 10:37 AM

Gee make sure to email them back and thank them for the three day notice. :/ I guess they figure our own industry treats us like crap and this sort of thing is common with sponsors and free hosts (thumblogger) so why can't they do it too?

Ibet they had an influx of adult for-profit sites after Thumblogger went down. It also seems to be the answer some adult affiliates and "new adult affiliates" (people who do blackhat and file locker affiliates) are using to try to make up for falling revenues. They just get an automation tool and spam the hell out of Blogger and Tumblr. I guess these sites are saying "no mas". I can't say I blame them but Tumblr needs to outright say where the limits are and admit "they will delete anything which is primarily for the purposes of making money" and Blogger should have gave a 30 day notice at least.

Tofu 06-27-2013 01:41 PM

Out of pure empathy, I've opened up my server to BBW models who need a place to blog from, for free, via wordpress. So far, most will be using my domains/subdomains. Few actually own any domains at all. I'm surprised at how many porn girls rely on Blogger!

That.

For the society, it's ok to have sex in your house, with your girlfriend, your wife (AMATEUR).
Everyone does, everyones loves. No problem.

For the society, it's wrong to sell sex, to buy sex. (COMMERCIAL).
Everyone still does and still loves, but it's not ok.
