Very deep water fish of these related species (rock fish) also tend to expand greatly with gas as a result of the decreased pressure of coming to the surface. Those types of fish (all the rockfish basically) are most often very tight to the bottom and in deep water.
Also, that fish is probably very old... Maybe around 80-100 yrs old. |
