i think its real.. leg looks weird because his leg is bent trying to support the fish, the bottom is just the top of his foot... at least i think

Nothing wrong with his leg, he is just leaning back with his leg pushing the fish away from him. That's his knee bent out and top of his bare foot.

Just a odd angle.

I read some articles and they are not even sure if it's real.

those are the records for freshwater largemouth bass...the picture is a sea bass..they come even bigger than the one in the pic above :2 cents:

Very deep water fish of these related species (rock fish) also tend to expand greatly with gas as a result of the decreased pressure of coming to the surface. Those types of fish (all the rockfish basically) are most often very tight to the bottom and in deep water.

Also, that fish is probably very old... Maybe around 80-100 yrs old.

It is fake, a good fake, but fake.

If it were real, there would be HEAPS of photos of it. Find me another one of this fish and that guy in it.

Yeah comparing all the other pics of guys with fishes on that site it could be determined to be a real pic.

Another fish pic from there with odd foot angle. It's from the guys leaning back against the rail and standing on tippy toes to hold the big fish off the floor of the boat. If you look at your foot with toes down that pic is spot on :winkwink:
