Whats up with these 1000 years? Sounds like a hollywood joke. Anywhere else in the world they give additional years on top of life sentence? Life is life already.

This doesn't mean that they can never leave prison. It's quite possible to be on parole with a life sentence: it just means that if you do anything, you'll be instantly returned and you'll have to go through the whole process again if you want to be paroled.

Life is dependant on the crime you've committed and the earliest point you're given the ability to apply for parole.

I obviously meant life without parole. Is there such a sentence? If there is then there is no need to add those funny years on top pf life.
Ps: what's the difference between life + 500 years and life + 1000 years? Or alternative - just 1000 years (without "life").

i am not sure whether like the zimmerman/martin case we should really care as opposed to the people who were immediately involved in a very real way i will add.
