Question regarding .xxx domains

What's deal with .xxx domain names? Icmregistry sells them like hotcakes to a fat lady, for rediculous prices..The .xxx search engine seems to look and work fine . And I understand that .com is the bread and butter of the internet. But ,I'm fucking missing something here . I have around 300 of what I thought were Bad ass names and can't get an offer on one let alone sell any. Yeah,I'm new to the game but can someone give me some insight on why people act like there the fucking plague. I'm just looking for some knowledge not some smart ass to say ..Just let them expire. Thanks

digitalfantasies 08-11-2013 03:57 AM

just let them expire.. they are worthless IMO

3xmedia 08-11-2013 04:04 AM

I agree, just let them expire, problem solved :thumbsup

AdultKing 08-11-2013 05:09 AM

You've failed. Let them expire :2 cents:

Trade_Monkey 08-11-2013 05:39 AM

I can't believe you regged so many xxx domains and then assumed we all wanted to buy them from you.

Sorry, but they are worthless.

This is the answer you're looking for:

The adult industry doesn't want "AND" is not interested in those .xxx names.

$85 x 300 = $25.500 ???? You are completly nuts buddy.

I smell bullshit - list some of you domains and where they are listed for sale?

If you really did fall for the xxx scam maybe someone here will have pity and buy a few (for original price)

Trade_Monkey 08-11-2013 06:19 AM

Before you make such a stupid comment, check "Sell and Buy" Forum. :2 cents:

Something like 80% of all .xxx registrations are defensive meaning someone is buying so that someone else cannot. Mark 'em down to cost, wait a month, mark the rest down to .75% of cost, wait a month, 50% you get the picture. Better get what you can.

This is the price for believing all the BS you read here. I remember when they were sponsoring events there were a few people here talking like .xxx was the best thing since sliced bread. Don't fall for that crap next time and think for yourself more.

Fat Panda 08-11-2013 07:47 AM

.xxx is pure shit. buying 1 is fucking dumb much less 300

bloggerz 08-11-2013 07:51 AM

.xxx is just another extension like all the others out there , nothing makes it more special, .com is still king

hillbilly bob 08-11-2013 08:16 AM

As for telling you some of the names ,as someone else stated check the sell and buy forum. Now ,once again I was just looking for some reasoning as of why someone would pay 10000 dollars for a domain that the extension sucked so bad. You see I bought them when they were 15 dollars a piece not a hundred.. If they ever sell so be it. I not a domainer nor a webmaster. Just someone that bought a bunch of fucking names because I could. But your input is indeed helpful.. And as for as pity....I need none, nor will I give any.

I would think he purchased these during the May $10 special, so a 3k investment is not that bad. But all the good .xxx domains were already gone by then.

It is only a matter of time before some politician lobby's congress to force people to move anything adult to an adult domain extension. I remember when whitehouse.com was an adult website...people would visit and get a surprise. At least with the .xxx extension it legitimizes the adult industry in some way.

.XXX is a sTLD meaning it is supposed to be a domain extension sponsored by the community. However, 95% of the adult industry was and remains against ICM Registry / .XXX. We don't ACT like .XXX domains are the plague because we know they ARE the plague. If you had done your due diligence and checked any adult webmaster forum, you would have known how most adult industry stakeholders hated .XXX and saved yourself a few thousand bucks. But since you didn't, let this be your wakeup call. Cut your losses and walk away from them before throwing more good money after bad.

bean-aid 08-11-2013 10:15 AM

If you got them for $10/pop you must have regged them for 10 years no? I thought that was the deal. So wouldn't that be back to a 30K investment?

If above is true... nothing to do but maybe send Stuart Lawly hate mail once in a while.

bean-aid 08-11-2013 10:27 AM

Sorry, 15 a pop at 45k

hillbilly bob 08-11-2013 10:39 AM

Yeah,so I wanted some info and I got some. I'll just let them expire and try something else. Thanks for all the advice and opinions. Later

It's actually not that dumb. I purchased one when they were on sale for about $10. I set up a shitty lil blog and it and I receive a ton of traffic from search.xxx now.
