Anyone here on Testosterone therapy?
Hi
I am 33 and the last time I used steroids was 7 years ago when I was in good shape...... Shit happened, I stopped training got into the webmaster shit and other stuff and piled on lots of fat My right nipple starting hurting so went to the doc who then sent me to the endo and they said that I got a tiny amount of gyno and my testosterone levels are very low. Also asked if I had morning boners, which I did not. SO this explains why my mood was so shitty..... The endo was going to put me on testosterone therapy but I said no and let me try lifestyle change first, so she agreed............ Any way got back into gym (natural) and started running. cardio, weights etc etc and recomped my body to a much fitter state. I started looking after myself again, nutritionally aswell and now get the morning boner. So my goal is to lose about a stone by January and my thinking is that with the lower body fat my test should bump back up. If in January with the lifestyle change and lower body fat my test is still not high enough, would you say that I should start taking the testosterone therapy? Thanks B |

I had a varicocele issue for a long time that wreaked havoc on my nads. I had the surgery to correct it last year, and I started Androgel about a month ago. My level was all the way down to 180 at its lowest. My test this week showed that it's in the 350 range.
my doc wants to get me up in the 800 to 1000 range. Today in particular was probably the best I've felt in years. I burned through a few sets of squats at the gym, and I'm already noticing my muscle gains coming back in the last few weeks. I can't imagine how good things will be when I get back in the sweet spot. |
you're too young, don't do it, once you start you can never stop because your body will stop making it.
wait till youre like in your 50s-60s |

If you're doing it properly under doctor supervision to bring a low count up and just aren't doing it to juice, then why not?

Go for it

I'm in a similar boat as you, but here is what I discovered after a number of years trying to find what my "problem" was.
First, get checked for sleep apnea. You don't have to be overweight to have it, and some don't even know they do. Not getting a full nights sleep will have adverse effects on T production. Secondly, if you are overweight, the more body fat you have, the more estrogen you will produce. So overweight men tend to have lower T numbers that those of their fit counterparts. A friend of mine is in the mid 300 lbs and his numbers where in the low 100's. after a huge lifestyle change and medication, he's now around 230lbs and T of mid 600 withOUT meds. If you messed with steroids and did not cycle off properly, that will certainly have an effect on your gonads. I've had my far share and admit, didn't use things properly and now pay for it later in life with thyroid and gland problems. Get a few things checked first, there is always a way to help, however might require meds for life depending on the damage. To answer your question, YES you should start therapy if your levels are low or low enough to warrant medication, otherwise you could be doing even more damage. Quote:
