Who said Athletes are Stupid? Payton Manning is a Genius.

From yahoo sports ?..

The jock stereotype cannot hold up in the face of business savvy like this.

Peyton Manning is a freaking genius. Seriously. The quarterback signed a deal to purchase 21 Papa John's franchises in the Denver area two weeks before voters in Colorado approved an amendment legalizing recreational pot use in the state.

Whats even funnier is the stoner crowd here in Denver has boycotted Papa Johns because one of their drivers called the cops on a legal mmj user.

Medical marijuana: Papa John's delivery driver calls cops on legal patient over weed

A 9News report on Smith's experience included a quote from a Colorado Papa John's spokesperson: "Papa John's of Colorado wants to stand behind the decision that this delivery driver made. He was acting as a concerned citizen and for what he believes was the best interests of our community."

I was reading some interesting stuff about Papa Johns right after the election. At first the CEO said they would have to lay people off and cut people's hours because they couldn't afford the healthcare Obamacare was going to make them buy. When that got them a lot of negative publicity they came out and said that it would cost them between 11-20 cents more per pizza to pay for that health insurance and they would have to pass that cost onto customers that seemed to get good publicity. People are willing to pay 10 cents more per pizza if it means his employees get health insurance. So then he announces that they likely will raise the cost per pizza by 50 cent per pie when Obamacare kicks in.

You gotta love the business model. Raise the price more than double what is needed to cover the cost, put the extra profit in your pocket and blame the president for the price increase.
