i've never said or written the word 'tarnation' as in 'What in tarnation is going on here?'

oh.... and 'whilst', a word British bum boys like to throw around a lot.

whilst is one I never use

one word I use a lot in emails is "unfortunately" but rarely ever say it. mainly due to the silly requests we get and I have to respond with "unfortunately that is not possible to do."

my wife would say I never use the words "sorry," "you're right" or "what would you like to do?" :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

"Whilst" is just "while". I'd say you'd have a good case for arguing that they're basically the same word. Not entirely sure if that counts, sorry! I use whilst in conversation, but try to avoid it in writing.

I just did a quick search of my entire professional writing archive. I'm up to 8 million words, and I've never used "ensconced", so there's that.
