Gta v

Anyone buy this yet. My Xbox has been collecting dust - is it worth buying?

arock10 09-30-2013 07:48 AM

Well yeah

sojproductions 09-30-2013 07:59 AM

is it worth £50?? i'm half tempted

ManicaMark 09-30-2013 08:02 AM

Great game. Addicted!!

DamianJ 09-30-2013 08:04 AM

I didn't like the last two. But having watched a friend play this for a while, I got it last week. Fucking great game. Feels like you are playing Michael Mann's Heat. Spent FAR too many hours on it this weekend!

AllAboutCams 09-30-2013 08:08 AM

Its a good game but i hate flying helicopters

Mr. Stiff 09-30-2013 08:10 AM

I actually bought a PS3 because of this game.. :D

I'd echo this sentiment. I never liked a Rockstar game until this one -- although it has a lot of the "Rockstar" things I hate (the endless chatter during car rides and some useless missions). But it's an awesome experience so far, and you're right about that "Heat" feeling, especially on the Paleto bank heist.

geedub 09-30-2013 08:40 AM

super fun.

J. Falcon 09-30-2013 08:54 AM

Was the online version supposed to go live today?

Tofu 09-30-2013 08:56 AM

I just finished the storyline last night, after the Breaking Bad
finale. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. Better than much of
the others (except Vice City). The characters are great and the
story is somewhat believable.

I preordered and got access to the Atomic Blimp, but still haven't redeemed it.
I may do that, tonight...

Scott McD 09-30-2013 08:57 AM

Probably the best game available on the current consoles...

PuffyCash_Megan 09-30-2013 10:41 AM

Loving it so far, there's a lot of driving involved but I kinda like that bit anyway :)

_Richard_ 09-30-2013 10:42 AM

brother doesn't play it anymore, not sure if i am gonna bother

trevesty 09-30-2013 10:55 AM

Beat the story line missions last night also.... I don't really get "addicted" to games, but I spent A LOT of time playing this after I bought it.

seeandsee 09-30-2013 11:15 AM

GTA 5 is game i want to play on my PC, i just hate console play

Viper2K1 09-30-2013 11:22 AM

no K-Rose radio in GTA V? bummer :(

winter_ 09-30-2013 12:01 PM

my girlfriend wants to know whether you can bring up vehicle dashboards in gta v in a dashboard view? sorry i stopped playing at vice city stories myself so i don't know whether it has been done already.

C H R I S 09-30-2013 02:02 PM

OK sold. I loved the Vice City, the others not so much.

2MuchMark 09-30-2013 08:31 PM

Totally fun and addictive. And just like Vice City, it's hilarious too.

Actually, this game is beyond good. I really have no idea how Rockstar pulled this off. Try just driving around for a while and forget the missions. There is an insane amount of detail everywhere you look.

Want to know how much? Try driving out of the city and towards the mountains. You think you may hit the edge of the game but you don't! Try going off road and drive up mountains. You can!! There's even rewards at the very top if you know where to look. Totally amazing and completely seamless too.

bronco67 09-30-2013 09:09 PM

For some fun, get a mountain bike and take it to the top of he highest mountain (the one with cable cars). Try to get to the bottom without dying.

totally, what an incredible production

tokmansta 09-30-2013 09:20 PM

Waiting for the pc version :(

Oracle Porn 10-01-2013 02:52 AM

It's a good game, not the most fun at times but really time wasteful and mildly entertaining.

arock10 10-01-2013 07:56 AM

Attempting this gta online shit. So far not much luck in playing

i would have liked to have seen this game, but as a life simulator, like shenmue.

i haven't followed the l.a. metro news as of late but it is safe to say we aren't out of the woods yet. i am just waiting for the next victim to die of gun violence, over this game, because he or she was playing it in their home, belonging to a gang, then got totally fucked off with something rockstar put in the game maybe to do with their set then go out and kill someone of the rival gang. you know how it goes, again, all over the game.

when ever these games get developed don't think for a second rockstar doesn't have to tread carefully. they certainly should.

Lol it's a game. Simulator would be dumb, if I wanted to simulate real life I'd just go outside.

PuffyCash_Megan 10-01-2013 10:40 AM

One thing I did notice was that they although there are a lot of awesome main missions, there are a bunch of really stupid weird side ones.... I don't want to say too much in case you haven't played them yet but they weren't my thing at all...

THis is something I don't like about Rockstar games...although they give you a lot of stuff to do, a large percentage of it has no impact on your cash or skillset. It's just empty time-killing -- which video games are depending on how you look at it -- but if I'm going to go out of my way to do a mini-mission, there has to be some benefit.

The worst is taking home a stripper. The only reward is seeing an exterior shot of the house with some moaning in the background. Why go through the trouble for that? Make some kind of stats game out of it, or something.

LouiseLloyd 10-01-2013 10:51 AM

Just managed to get online!

Yeah and you get much more at a real strip club? And that's real money.

C H R I S 10-01-2013 11:07 AM

Ordered on Amazon.... can't wait to play. Is it alot better on PS3? I dont plan on buying another console but curious.

How is it?

CDSmith 10-01-2013 11:24 AM

I heard this game sold over $800 MILLION by the end of it's release day. Doesn't answer the original question but that's a stat that really blew me away.

The trailers for GTA 5 look pretty incredible to me. It's definitely on my to-buy list. I have a ton of other things to get to first though so I'm not going to get it just yet.... because I know that once I have it I'm going to play it for 900 hrs straight. :D

Like starting of a whole new game, done a few new missions, you can team up with other online players, tbh from the half hour I have been online it looks like it could be the best part of GTA V.

alex.missyouth 10-01-2013 12:41 PM

Ain't buying it .

C H R I S 10-08-2013 11:45 AM

So I bought the game - slid it in, and my XBOX took a shit and gave me 3 red lines on power switch. Guess Ill have to wait 3 weeks to play while I wait for them to repair.

J. Falcon 10-08-2013 12:19 PM

I'm at 50% of the storyline and so far it's damn good. Being able to switch characters makes it really fun.

arock10 10-08-2013 01:14 PM

Gta online is where it's at. Hit me up if you want to play

Choopa_Pardo 10-08-2013 01:15 PM

I'll get around to buying this eventually. Not sure if I am ready to invest into that massive time suck yet.

$5 submissions 10-08-2013 01:20 PM

I won't touch it unless a PC version comes out.

PC gamers UNITE!

not sure if it's been mentioned, but i am 90% sure that rockstar released a patch that shows the inside of the house

RyuLion 10-08-2013 03:19 PM

YES! It's definitely worth it!

1215 10-08-2013 05:22 PM

its back to vice city greatness.

everything in between was shitty.

2MuchMark 10-08-2013 09:20 PM
