Someone born on that day can legally shoot porn now.

I bet 9~ months from now back then, there was a dip in births as a result of nerds installing this/watching porn.

Supz 10-16-2013 09:44 PM

looks like the apple store.

izombie 10-16-2013 10:02 PM

I still got my certificate I got from training my work sent me to saying I'm a certified Windows 95 Technician

JockoHomo 10-16-2013 10:23 PM

Yes, Windows made computers accessible (by making them more usable) to the masses. Changed history.

XXXtrailers 10-16-2013 11:47 PM

Brings back lots of memories on helping people get their internet connected for the first time. lol

winter_ 10-17-2013 12:28 AM

windows 95 still served a huge purpose for the personal computer users who used it and still do. in fact china, which has the largest internet population, still quite commonly use windows 95, 98 and xp still, on old hardware as well. don't knock it.

Markul 10-17-2013 12:42 AM

Win95 was awesome :thumbsup

I forget when it was... maybe in 2006 or so... but I went to Nasa and took the extended tour and one of the places running various screens was ... Windows 95. geezuz!

Anyway, ready for this?

Fast forward to 1:40 and get ready to cringe.

It was the first real change in Home Computers. Windows 3.1 sucked!

Wow I forgot about OS/2.... I used it for a while but ended up switching back to Windows about a month later. I forget why but I think the main reason was speed and lack of software.

scarlettcontent 10-17-2013 01:24 PM

I still have a copy of windows 3.0 on a floppy disk, oh those were the days

Wouldn't that have been Windows 3.x?

The first time I saw computers being used by "regular people" was in 1991 or so using Windows 3.x

Remember back then people used to have to be trained on how to use MS Word and Excel? I still remember taking classes on it.

God Windows 8.1 is horrible...

Waited for the true release date to install it... shouldn't have, already had 3 crashed in IE 11.

Also seems to be running slower than Windows 8... actually liked Windows 8... ugh...

And we thought we were the cat's ass when we upgraded the monochrome monitor to an RGB (4 color) Sperry monitor. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

OS/2 was soooo much faster. Multithreading was ahead of it's time... It's too bad the proof of concept was basically running two instances of Doom in isolated DOS windows at the same time :1orglaugh

Actually not true at all. Windows XP was much much better than 95 and 98. Windows 2000 was a great os. Windows 7 is fine, I remember windows 95 and 98 crashing on me all the time.
Mac os isnt brillant when you only have to support 4 computers that you also build. Windows has to support millions of possible combinations and it pretty much does without problems.

Andreweb 10-18-2013 06:50 AM
