10 Children's books you didn't know were RACIST (vid)
Pro: the passages speak for themselves and reflect colonialist/imperialist mindsets of the time. Lots of social darwinism too. While people shouldn't be judged by standards of a later time, surely the idea of determinism and dividing people into inferior/superior segments are 'no brainers' when it comes to BAD IDEOLOGIES, right? Con: those passages only prove one thing: that the people who wrote those works were products of their time. Why should they be judged by the standards of a later time? |
what a complete load of old tripe. the number one book (Narnia) is racist because the bad guys are dark skinned? Hold on, they are in a fantasy land so the bad guys are not even earthbound! What's next are all bad guys meant to be green in future so that no-one gets offended (except the Martians?).
The BBC is already blighted by this PC crap, you can guarantee that in any thriller that the black guy will NEVER ever commit a crime, the worst that ever happens in PC-land is that a black guy will be framed by a white racist at the start of the programme but it all works out fine in the end - all rather strange when you look at crime statistics in the UK, PC land completely fails to show the reality. |

They wanted it to be read forever. They will be judged by it as long as it is read. |

Good stories are universal, and transcend such petty fad political issues. |
The sexual innuendo in some kids stuff is pretty funny as well - Anyone else old enough to remember Captain Pugwash?..

hallmark, do they do children's books? that seems that's english, probably zionist too. those could be all knock-off's though so no i don't believe the op is trying to give us the idea that those authors and illustrators are racist. i have seen some other convincing cartoons like simpson knock-off's and king of the hill knock-off's of which i could swear were drawn up by mike judge himself, but i should hope by people who are part of the sex business instead.

I had those Noddy books, the Golliwogs creeped me out. I loved TinTin, I was heartbroken when I went to the library and realized I had read all of them and there were no more to come.
There aren't many good stories without bad guys, the Bible is filled with them - sometimes a different ethnic group and culture are bad and their practices are strange to us. Those books were written for European and American children. Hating and marginalizing others helps build self esteem - a kid who doesn't measure up in the white world can always find consolation in that at least he's white. |

Racist ideologies are based on generalizations and assumptions. I'm not saying people don't take it seriously or don't believe such things or even that it's not politically useful, but there's no denying that racism is totally a psychological complex. As for taking consolation in just being white, that sucks, talk about the emperor's new clothes. |
no, not dr doolittle :Oh crap

Shortage of white people on BET is racist :2 cents:

Seeing racism everywhere, tracking it down, weeding it out, accusing falsely and condemning unjustly.
